Background Info:

Trolleybus was rescued after hopping onto a Kansas City bus all by himself to escape the cold. He was the last passenger when he was noticed by the driver as he was taking his bus back to the depot for the night. Sadly, it was later discovered that he belonged to a homeless man who perished from the cold a few days before.

Health Condition:
Trolley is heartworm positive and has began treatment. He should be fully recovered by the end of April.

​Potential adopters that have the ability to keep a dog calm for the entire duration of the treatment and are able to visit our veterinarian for the injections can adopt heartworm positive dogs if they wish. There is no extra cost to adopters.

Physical Description:
Trolley is quite the hunk! A dark and handsome Casanova with adoring brown eyes. Trolley is medium size and very well proportioned.

Current Living Situation:
Trolley is kept in a temporary foster with two adults and four other dogs. He is currently kept separate from the other dogs and expresses no interest in other pets in his foster home.

There's a yard with a 6' privacy fence.

When left alone in the house Trolley is kenneled, which can be up to 6 hours at a time, but sleeps in bed with his fosters at night.

Personality:
Trolley is extremely well-behaved and does not show any indications that he was an outside dog, let alone a stray. He is very comfortable with human interaction.

Trolley is an experienced couch potato. He does well in the car and does not express any anxiety, but is largely apathetic towards car rides. Walks have been kept short and infrequent owing to harsh weather. Trolley does well on a leash and keeps an even pace on walks.

Trolley expresses about 10 minutes of excited activity when one of his foster parents returns home, before settling in on the couch. If there's a couch nearby, Trolley is on it and has already picked out his favorite spot. Better yet, if you've left a bedroom door open, Trolley will be found curled up snoozing away.

Trolley does love watching television, particularly cartoons, to the point that changing the channel from cartoons will elicit an audible grump sound. Mostly though, he just wants to curl up with a human he trusts and relax.

Behavior with people:
Trolley is beyond loyal and trusting. He absolutely lives for joining his loved-ones in some binge watching TV at the end of a long day. If he's not watching the TV, it's because he's taken to looking up at you with one of his goofball expressions and ridiculously adorable puppy eyes.

Behavior with children:
Trolley hasn't been around kids since being in our program. Though he can be a little sensitive at times, he's also tolerant and very well socialized. We believe he could live in a home with considerate children that are old enough for positive and respectful interactions with a dog.

Training:
Crate training is in progress and going well. Trolley is mostly housebroken but has had occasional accidents in kennel. He is treat motivated and generally responds to basic commands like sit and come. He also responds well to affectionate affirmations.

If you ever wanted a breed ambassador to show how much love and affection Pit Bulls can give, Trolley is your guy! He is sweet and gentle, even when getting his favorite treats. He is also incredibly trusting once he has made a connection. He will never break your heart, but he is looking for a human that can promise the same thing to him.
