Adoption Fee: 200.00
Breed: Pit Bull/Am Bulldog
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yo
Weight: 65-75 Lbs
Health Condition:
Tiger Lily is healthy and ready for adoption.
Physical Description:
Quite the contrast to Tiger Lily’s white volleyball-shaped head, are her dark chocolate eyes. But of course, Tiger Lily’s signature physical attribute is her striking tiger striped coat which emphasizes her long slender legs and body. And the best part about her coat is how incredibly soft it is.
Current Living Situation:
Tiger Lily is currently living in a foster home with two adults, a 17-year-old, two dogs, and a pair of pet rats.
She has free range of the house when someone is home and usually spends that time curled up next to another dog or person. When in an exceptionally cuddly mood, she will happily lie on top of the dog or person’s lap. Although she is also content lying in her own space or in a separate room.
At night she sleeps on the bed. When the humans are gone, she is gated in the mud room. During that time she is quiet and naps. She is respectful of the gate in the doorway, other boundaries, and open doors.
Personality:
Tiger Lily is a happy-go-lucky goofball with a well-balanced disposition and level of energy. She is eager to please, responsive, and very easy-going.
Her love language is touch and she is extremely interactive with her paws.
Tiger Lily is very tolerant of everything! Handling for bathing, cleaning her paws, ears and face, as well as being picked up (all 70lbs of her).
She is a wonderful mix of calm inside the house and also a great partner for hiking/walking several miles outside each day.
She is curious about water and new things we have introduced her to. In her spare time, Tiger Lily enjoys chewing on appropriate toys like Kongs, balls, bones, or sticks.
She's not afraid of storms, but needs encouragement to get in and out of the car. Once in the car, she lies across the back seat and sleeps.
Behavior with people:
With people she knows, Tiger Lily happily greets them each time they walk into a room with wiggles, tail wags, and a smile. She calmly and lightly rests her paws on people's chest in greeting on their level. She rarely gives kisses.
When given her own space to approach new people, Tiger Lily naturally offers her paw in greeting and loves the attention.
Behavior with children:
Tiger Lily is currently not living with any children in the foster home. She has solicited pets and attention in her brief interactions with the neighbor's school age children.
Behavior with other dogs:
Tiger Lily lives with two other dogs; A Vizsla/Doberman mix, (neutered, 7-years-old) and a Pitbull mix, (spayed, 8-years-old). She has been playful with dogs of a variety of sizes. She is also respectful and listens to older dogs that do not want to play. In the foster home, the two resident dogs frequently alert about any movement outside, but so far Tiger Lily will go to the window to see what all the fuss is about and then will quietly observe the action.
Behavior with other animals:
She may do well with cats when gradually introduced, but is not currently living with cats in the foster home. There are pet rats however, that she likes to interact with by putting her nose to their wire cage, calmly observing them or trying to initiate play with a bow.
Training:
Tiger Lily stands at the door when she wants to let her foster home know she needs to go outside to do her business, which she does quickly once she is outside. She knows "sit" and has learned "lie down." Tiger Lily is food and praise motivated and eager to learn more.
Best Attribute:
Tiger Lily is a well rounded young dog. She has been loving towards people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and is house-trained. It is easy to fall hard for this girl!
