Background Info:
Tiffany was found as a stray with a bad case of Mange. MPR wanted to make sure she got the medication attention she deserved to get her looking and feeling her best and on to a brighter future.
Adoption Fee: $200
Breed: Pit Bul
Sex: Female
Age: 3-5 mths
Weight: Growing
Health Condition:
Tiffany is currently recovering from a bad case of Mange. She is on medication and is showing signs of improvement with her fur slowly growing back. Aside from her skin condition, she is healthy and ready for adoption.
Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for their care.
Physical Description:
She is about 20 lbs and still growing. Her coat will be a beautiful blue once grown back with some white markings. Her eyes are a unique blue-ish gray, and she has those signature floppy pit ears.
Living Situation:
Tiffany is getting her Mange treatment in a foster home where she lives with two adults, two adolescent children, and two other dogs: a young male and a senior female. Proper introductions using ‘Crate & Rotate’ are in progress.
Personality:
Tiffany is a happy, energetic puppy. Despite whatever unfortunate past she came from, you would never know it based on her friendly personality. Tiff is constantly wagging her tail and always glad to see you. Foster mom says she is very rambunctious while out of her crate and like a typical puppy, Tiffany can be mouthy and nippy, so redirecting her from this bad habit is a work in progress.
Behavior with people:
This girl has never met a stranger! She is very outgoing and gets excited when introduced to people. Her foster mom is working with her on good manners when meeting new friends.
Behavior with children:
Tiffany has shown us that she loves children. However, she’s currently a little over the top and too rambunctious with them. Partly because she doesn’t know her own strength. She takes direction better from adults. A home without children is preferred while she works on her manners.
Behavior with other dogs:
Tiffany has met her foster siblings through her crate, but she has not been out free with them yet. Recently she was introduced to a male puppy playmate around her same age that her foster mom describes as a love connection! This supervised playtime with a compatible male is great for giving Tiffany an outlet for all her energy and keeps her entertained.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown.
Training:
Tiff is getting plenty of exercise in her foster time between supervised play time in the fenced back yard and her daily walks. She is learning how to walk on a leash and she minds well during this time. Tiffany’s foster mom says she is very calm in her crate and rarely makes any noise. She goes into her crate easily with a treat, and she has had only a few accidents thus far. Her foster family is working hard on redirecting Tiffany when she displays unwanted behaviors. She is very smart, but she can be stubborn! Tiffany will need a home with strong leadership and consistency.
Note from foster mom: “Her biggest hurdle will be learning how to remain calm with people and understand affection. I believe a home that will be able to give her plenty of exercise is ideal. She is smart and would really benefit from ongoing obedience training.
Best Attribute:
Tiffany’s love for people and play and life in general! She would make a great walking or running partner, as she is already adapting to her 2-3 walks per day. Tiffany is very smart. Her perfect home will be able to provide her with plenty of exercise and leadership as she works on learning good manners. Once all her fur grows back, Tiffany will be a real beauty!
