Background Info:

Tiara was left in an abandoned house with a male dog. The dogs were confiscated by animal control and taken to safety thanks the the vigilance of a neighbor. Both dogs were roaming free throughout the home and were unattended for an undetermined amount of time. A third dog was kept on a tight chain outside.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective, and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will react under all circumstances and situations.
Health Condition:
Tiara has successfully completed heartworm treatment. She is healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:
Tiara is absolutely gorgeous! Her coat color is amazing and hard to describe but "rosegold" sounds about right. She looks like velvet and her cropped ears dont prevent her sweetness to shine through her eyes.

Living Situation:
Tiara is a great guest at MPR shelter. One of the easiest dog we have right now and no trouble at all. It would be great if they were all as polite and grateful as this sweet lady.

Tiara is quiet in her kennel and keeps it neat and clean. She uses the doggy-door to relieve herself if needed. While we dont know for sure if she is housebroken, she seems to understand the concept. She never had any accident in the playrooms.

Personality:
When she is out of her kennel, Tiara's favorite activity is to cuddle with a volunteer. Outside in the yard she will run and play for a bit, but quickly lets us know she is ready for more cuddles. She is very affectionate.

Behavior with people:
She's an angel of love with her loved-ones but may be protective. While she quickly gives her heart, she can be a little unsure when it comes to strangers. She may be a little protective. Patient socialization would be recommended with her.

Behavior with children:
We can only imagine how adoring she would be of "her" kids but she could become protective of them towards their friends. For that reason, we believe a home with responsible adults would be a better fit.

Behavior with other dogs:
We know she lived with another dog before and did fine with him. She was also briefly introduced to other dogs at the pound and was "ok" per staff report. Since being with us however, Tiara's behavior indicates that she would prefer to be an only pet. While sweet and docile with our volunteers, she has been uptight when other dogs are nearby. She might be able to share her home with a young male who'd let her be top queen, but introductions and supervision would have to be very diligent. We believe she would shine as the only 4-legged princess in the house.

Please note that Tiara has some barrier reactivity when it comes to other dogs.

Behavior with other animals:
Unknown. A cat home is not recommended.

Training:
Tiara is naturally well-behaved and knows the basics. She is strong and might pull on the leash so may need a little training. Otherwise, she has great manners, is obedient and very eager to please.

Best attribute:
Not only is she absolutely stunning, but she has a beautiful heart as well. Tiara's biggest wish is to become someone's pampered princess.
