Talos

Aquarelle icon.jpg
In Greek mythology, Talos was a giant automaton made of bronze to protect Europa in Crete from pirates and invaders. He circled the island's shores three times daily.

Background Info:

This BIG dude was found as a stray by a member of the public and surprisingly never claimed. We do not have any background or history in regard to his past. He was named Talos due to his size and imposing appearance.

Health Condition:
Talos is healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:
He is HUGE! We suspect he might be mix with Mastiff or Great Dane. He has a gorgeous blue fawn coat and adoring eyes. This giant Don Juan will surely attract attention everywhere he goes.

Living Situation:
Talos is trying his very best to be a good sport about his situation at MPR shelter, but homeless life is definitly not his cup-of-tea. He's such a big needy baby and would much rather be in a home with a loving family. That said, he's mostly well-behaved in his kennel. He will bark (pretty loud, deep bark like a Great Dane) if he knows someone is at the shelter spending time with the other dogs instead of him. It's not too bad, but we dont recommend apartment living for this Baritone.

Otherwise, he's a good tenant; keeps his kennel clean and uses the doggy-door to do his business. In fact he prefers to wait for his turn in the yard so we believe he is probably housebroken.

Personality:
Unfortunately, we missed the mark with his name. Despite his formidable appearance, Talos is not much of a guard dog. He's actually a big baby and not very confident. But he's super sweet and very easy to love.

Talos' level of energy is medium. He's playful and likes the chase the ball in the yard for a bit but settles quickly on the couch and occupies himself with a toy.

We haven't taken him on walks or outings yet, so we dont know how he does on a leash or in the car.

Talos is not a big fan of being alone and might have separation anxiety. In addition to being vocal when he's lonely, he has been known to grab blankets, cushions or clothing and bring them on the couch with him as a means of comfort. He hasn't destroy anything yet but we would not put it past him. He might not be the best candidate in a home with people who are gone long hours.

Behavior with people:
Very loving! Needy, affectionate, eager to be loved. Talos likes to sit politely in front of people and gently paw them for attention. For a dog his size you'd expect him to be more confident but he definitly does not have a dominant personality. He's very much a lover, not a fighter.

Behavior with children:
Unknown

Behavior with other dogs:
Unknown

Behavior with other animals:

Training:
He knows basic commands and is very eager-to-please. He appears housebroken and never had an accident inside.
