Background Info:

Suzy Q was found as a stray, taken to the local shelter and never claimed. We have no info regarding her background and upbringing, but she was very thin and sick when she arrived. We suspect she was either lost for while or didn't have a good home. She was more than happy to leave her sad past behind and we promised her that she will only be treated like a princess from now on.
Adoption Fee: $ 100
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 2-6 yrs
Weight: 60-70 lbs
Health Condition:
Miss Suzy Q tested positive for heartworm disease when she first came to MPR. However she has completed her treatment in February and is now healthy and ready for adoption. Yay! 🥳😁🎉

Physical Description:
A diamond in the rough. She was so skinny when she first came to us, but Suzy gained all the weight she needed. She sure is a beauty now, as we expected. She has such soulful eyes and an endearing personality that shines through when she sweetly looks at you. Suzy is medium/large and very well proportioned.

Current Living Situation:
Suzy is recovering from her ordeal at MPR shelter and loving every minute of it. She obviously knows a good thing when she has it and has been very grateful to be given this precious chance. She is super easy to handle and very well behaved in her kennel. Miss Suzy is already a volunteers' favorite because she is no trouble at all.

Suzy Q keeps her kennel clean and is not destructive of her bedding. She is quiet, patient, and non-reactive toward the dogs next to her kennel. That said, she will engage back at the fence if a dog bikers on the other side.

Personality:
This one is a real sweetheart! So loving and pleasing. Suzy has a darling personality with a positive nature. She's developing more stamina as she regains her strength and has a well-balanced level of energy.

Susy is alert of her surrounding and will bark if something piques her interest outside the property.

Behavior with people:
Suzy appears to have a very well adjusted disposition when it comes to people. Someone might have had a heavy hand in the past but she doesn't hold a grudge towards people. Not shy at all, she is actually outgoing and affectionate, and obviously relieved to finally be surrounded by friendly people.

Behavior with children:
Unknown. As of now, Suzy is giving us no reason to believe she might not do well in a home with children. However, she hasn't met any little ones since being with us.

Behavior with other dogs:
We believe Suzy Q needs to be an only pet. While she is not reactive towards the dogs kenneled next to her at the shelter, she is not giving us any indication that she would like to make doggy-friends. The city pound made a few introduction attempts during her brief stay with them and concluded that she would be more successful if she was the only 4-legged princess in her home.

Behavior with other animals:
Unknown but a home with cats is not recommended.

Training:
This good-natured dog is inherently well-behaved and appears to have basic house-manners. She is keeping her kennel clean and hasn't had any accident in our play rooms. She does her business in the yard when its her turn out. She is responsive, sits for treats and seems alert and sharp. We love her, and so will you!
