Stilton
Stilton is an English cheese, produced in two varieties. Stilton has a beautiful interior, streaked like marble, and the texture is crumbly and almost soft - relatively delicate compared to its stout and bold flavors.
Background Info:
Stilton was found as a stray by Animal Control. We don’t know much about this beautiful boy’s previous life, but his adorable face and happy spirit will make him a wonderful pet to a lucky family!
Health Condition:
Stilton is healthy and ready for adoption.
Physical Description:
Stilton is a medium-sized, white and brindle beauty. He was a little camera shy when he first arrived at MPR, so we couldn’t capture his great pittie smile but rest assured that this boy flashes it freely. It’s funny to us that he looks so serious in his photos since he is usually quite jovial. Stilton also has the signature floppy ears that we love so much!
Living Situation:
Stilton is residing at the MPR shelter while he waits patiently to find his forever family. He is no trouble in his kennel and really comes to life when he’s outside in the yard.
Personality:
In stark contrast to his earnest appearance in photos, Stilton is actually a silly little boy. He’s fun-loving whether playing fetch with you or entertaining himself with a chew toy. He likes to play in the yard rain or shine doesn’t mind getting his hands (paws) dirty.
Behavior with people:
Stilton loves to run and be chased! Fetch is his favorite game. He has good manners and loves attention but can be independent and entertain himself when humans aren’t around.
Behavior with children:
Unknown, but Stilton’s lively spirit could make him a good fit for a fun family with kids. Note that he can run fast and hard, so small children might not find his playfulness as endearing as us adults.
Behavior with other dogs:
Unknown. Stilton has never interacted with another dog to our knowledge. He shows curiosity when he can see or hear dogs in another room, but he’s likely sizing them up as a playmate more than anything else. We would consider placing him with a compatible female that enjoys his company.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown.
Training:
Stilton has been learning basic commands with shelter volunteers and has proven to be a quick learner! He already knows “sit,” “place,” and “down.” A little training goes a long way with this food-motivated boy!
Best Attribute:
Stilton is a great dog simply put! He’s easy on the eyes and playful yet polite. From what we’ve seen from him at the shelter, he’ll do great in an environment where his jaunty personality can shine. Stilton’s idea of a good time is merely being outside in a yard where he can run around and fetch or sprawl out on the lawn with a toy to chew. What a catch!
