Sangria

A Spanish drink of red wine mixed with lemonade or soda, spices, and sliced fruit.

Background Info:
Sangria was found right outside of a local shelter before making her way into our program and we suspect she was dumped by her previous owners. We don't know how anyone could dispose this sweet girl. Her loving nature and great temperament immediately won us over!
Health Condition:
Sangria is healthy and ready to find her forever home.
Physical Description:
This gorgeous girl is on the smaller side, but she’s still fairly muscular. Sangria has evenly cropped ears atop her big block head. She has the most adoring eyes that make you fall in love with her at first sight.
Current Living Situation:
Sangria is living in a foster home with two adults and a small male dachshund. Slow introductions are in progress. She is always crated when home alone. Sangria actually LOVES her crate! Just not in the conventional way… this adorable gal prefers sitting on top of her crate, haha! She sleeps in bed with her foster mom at night and does quite well. You could say she gets attached easily 😊
Personality:
A big sweetheart with a loving personality! Sangria enjoys cars rides and stays in the dog hammock in the back seat. She loves to be with her person and will follow you to the end of the earth! This girl is a little shadow baby. She gets a touch of separation anxiety when her foster mom leaves, and she gets crated. Sangria tries to jail break out of her kennel, but foster mom is working on it with her. Otherwise, Sangria is very easy-going and perfectly happy sitting quietly nearby – especially if she can sit on top of her kennel and gaze out the window.
Behavior with people:
Sangria is well behaved when meeting new friends. She is a tiny bit timid at first but warms up super quickly and becomes a very outgoing and social dog.
Behavior with children:
Unknown.
Behavior with other dogs:
Sangria was not at the shelter long enough to be tested with other dogs. However, her foster mom is working on a slow introduction to the dachshund in the home and says it is going great!
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown.
Training:
Sangria is working on basic training with her foster mom. She is very responsive and eager to please, especially if you have treats. Sangria is very food motivated. She is a dream on leash – you can walk her with a very loose lead. OK, so she isn’t a huge fan of walks in the cold weather, but who is?! Sangria gets her business done quickly to get back into the warmth.
Best Attribute:
Sangria is the sweetest little shadow. She enjoys spending time with her person whether it be laying by their feet at a desk, sitting in the kitchen, or even following you to the bathroom! She will make sure you are never alone and never without a loving gaze.
