Background Info:

Would you believe this little beauty was found as a stray and never claimed? Surprisingly, this is exactly what happened to little Miss Ruthie. We do not have any info regarding her life before landing at the city shelter, but we know that she spent a few weeks in a temporary foster home before being transferred to our program.

Adoption Fee: $200.00
Breed: Amstaff/Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yo
Weight: 35-45 lbs
Health Condition:

Ruthie is healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:

She's a doll! A tiny little thing with a compact, blocky, and well proportioned body. In addition, she has THE prettiest face. Ruthie looks even cuter in person believe it or not! She's smaller than average at just about 40 lbs, and might be accepted in rentals with weight restrictions up to 50 lbs.

Current Living Situation:

Before coming to us, Ruthie spent a few weeks with a single man in an apartment. No kids, but he had another dog and a cat. She did awesome in his home other than needing a little bit of work when it came to housebreaking. Since being with us at the shelter she has been the perfect little angel. No accidents in her kennel, quiet, easy, patient, and super sweet.

Personality:

Ruthie truly is a little princess. Very sweet, well behaved, and sensitive. Since she just arrived at the shelter and is rather timid in the new environment, we haven't seen all sides of her personality yet. We will update her bio once we know her better, although we bet she'll be adopted before we have a chance to do it!

Behavior with people:

As of now she has been nothing but the sweetest thing. Timid and reserved, but eager to connect. More info coming soon.

Behavior with children:

Unknown.

Behavior with other dogs:

She was briefly fostered in a home with another dog and they got along great. We have very little info regarding their interactions but believe she would do well in a home with a compatible male with proper management.

Behavior with other animals:

Ruthie spent a few weeks in a temporary home with a cat and was good with them.

Training:

She needs to continue learning proper house manners, but she is responsive and on the submissive side. We don't anticipate any problems with her becoming a well-mannered companion with a little bit of time and patience.

Additional Info:

Ruthie has been through a lot of changes recently and she is worried about settling down right now. Who could blame her? We can't wait until she finally finds the home that will be committed to her for the rest of her life. This little doll is too sweet and too pretty to be homeless. The good news is that we have no doubts that Ruthie will fly out of our program in a heartbeat, so you better act fast if you want a chance to adopt such treasure. Precious little princesses like her are few and far between.
