Pumbaa
A character in the Disney movie The Lion King, Pumbaa is a loving, open-hearted warthog who sometimes displays childlike naivety and innocence that can be confused for stupidity.
Background Info:
This adorable guy was found as a stray, brought to the city pound and never claimed. His cute face and great disposition won the staff over and they quickly selected him to meet our intake team. We dont have any other info about his background but we can tell you that he is one fun-loving boy!
Adoption Fee: $200
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 50-60 lbs

Health Condition:
Other than mild seasonal allergies that are manageable via medications, Pumbaa is healthy and ready for adoption.
Physical Description:
He's as cute as can be. Perfect conformation, amazing red-copper coat, and a face to die for. He's actually much cuter in person.
Living Situation:
Pumbaa spent a couple weeks at MPR shelter before being transferred to foster care. He was a great guest at the shelter and easy to handle. He kept his kennel clean and always waited for the grass to do his business. We had been told by the staff at the city shelter that he was very housebroken and they didn't lie.
Pumbaa is now fostered in a home with a single woman and a female American Bulldog. Foster mom asked for a week or two to get to know him better and we will post an update soon.
She posted this the day after he arrived: "Pumbaa is fitting in great! He's honestly very easy. He loves all the toys and seems like he's been taught not to get on furniture, so I'm not going to tell him otherwise!"
Personality:
Pumbaa is very outgoing and not shy at all. He just wants to have fun and enjoy life. Very positive spirit. He is full of personality and still very juvenile in nature. We are working on some inappropriate puppy behaviors such has being a little mouthy when he tries to connect with someone. The behavior is more annoying than worrisome and he's quickly learning that nibbling on you is not the best way to make friends with people. It's a work in progress.
Pumbaa is energetic but not hyper. He loves to romp and play but can easily find things to amuse himself if you are too busy for him.
Pumbaa is a water dog! He loves to play in a doggy-pool and might be a fun dog to take to the lake. Note that he'll likely jump in the shower with you if you let him.
Behavior with people:
Very friendly. He knows no stranger. Pumbaa is comfortable with everyone he meets and doesn't have a shy bone.
Behavior with children:
He might be a little too puppyish for a home with small kids. He's learning but he sometimes acts like an 8 week old pup in the body of a 2 year old. He gets mouthy and pushy at times and could overwhelm kids that aren't old and big enough to handle him. He has no malice however and might do great in a home with teenagers.
Behavior with other dogs:
Pumbaa hasn't been introduced to his big foster sister yet. She's aloof with other dogs and needs more time. We do know that he was exposed to dogs before coming to our program and was described as a very rough and rowdy player. While he gets along with other dogs, he needs a compatible match or he might just irritate them with his antics.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown
Training:
Pumbaa knows the basic commands and he is very housebroken. He's not known for being destructive but foster mom is working on crate training anyway. Info will be updated as she gets to know him better.
Best Attribute:
His joyful and outgoing personality fits his adorable monkey-face. Pumbaa is easy, friendly and super fun-loving. A little training will go a long way with him. He has great potential for just about any lifestyle.
