Peppa Pig

Peppa Pig is a character from a British children's show. Peppa Pig is a loveable, energetic little piggy who is also curious and playful.

Background Info:
Peppa Pig was found as a stray in early December and brought into the city shelter. She was never claimed. She was very thin, had some wounds on her head and her coat looked dull and neglected. She looked like she might not have had the best life but we don't have any official information regarding her past and upbringing.
Adoption Fee: $300
Breed: Frenchy Mix
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 years old
Weight: 15-25 lbs
Health Condition:
We battled some soft stools when she was initially rescued but she's doing much better with a consistent diet and a stress-free environment. She might have a bit of a sensitive digestive system and should have a good quality diet for the rest of her life. Other than that, Peppa seems healthy.
Please research French Bulldogs and small size Bully dogs before applying, because many of them are prone to certain health issues as they mature. Arthritis and heart conditions are common. As of now however, Peppa is not showing any signs of health problems
Physical Description:
She's a tiny tidy little mutant! At about 20 lbs., you can easily pick her up, though she's not fond of it. She has the cutest little face with a huge underbite. Her little tongue sticks out most of the time, especially when she's being submissive and tries to be cute. Peppa looks like a French Bulldog mix or possibly she is someone's attempt at creating a so called "Pocket-Bully".
Current Living Situation:
Peppa is fostered in a home with 2 adults and 5 other dogs, ranging in breeds, sizes, and ages. She is crated when home alone, which isn't often as her foster parents work from home. The rest of the time she is loose in the house, busying herself with learning everybody's routine. There is a huge fenced yard but she is not very thrilled with being outside. The cold doesn't help. There are ducks and chickens in the adjacent yard with a chain link fence and she ignores them.
Personality:
Adorable! A charming mix of timidity and stubbornness. She has a sensitive spirit and you can easily hurt her feelings, but she's tenacious when she has something in mind (ex: wanting back in the house when its cold outside). She's only been in her foster home since mid-December so she is still in adaptation and decompressing mode. She is a little insecure but friendly and very sweet.
Behavior with people:
She loves people but someone might have had a heavy hand on her in her previous home. She is fearful of loud voices and knows when someone is upset. She will run in her crate and hide. She hasn't shown one bit of aggression, however, and she is very sweet with everyone she meets.
Behavior with children:
Unknown. Peppa hasn't been exposed to kids since being with us. While we can't imagine her being anything but sweet with little ones, we are worried about her sensitivity. She would thrive in a calm home with quiet and gentle adults. She doesn't have the right personality to do well in a boisterous environment with running and screaming kids, loud noises, and your typical happy family chaos.
Behavior with other dogs:
Peppa gets along well with all the dogs in her foster home and seems comfortable even in the presence of much larger dogs. She has been non-confrontational and does her best to fit in. She respects the dogs and doesn't engage in conflicts with them. She is actually independent but doesn't mind sharing a bed with them.
Behavior with other animals:
She was slightly curious when she heard and saw the chickens and ducks in the yard next door but quickly got used to them. We think she might do well in a home with cats too, but we haven't seen her in the presence of one.
Training:
Peppa knows "sit" and "come" but she has the typical stubbornness of a Bulldog, so she only listens when she wants to.
Peppa loves her crate and goes in on her own. Its her little safe place.
Please note that Peppa isn't fully housebroken yet. It's a work in progress. The cold weather doesn't help but she is starting to understand the concept. She definitely doesn't like the cold and is more preoccupied by finding a way to come back in the house than doing her business. It helps when someone goes outside with her and encourages her.
Best Attributes:
She's too cute for words and her personality matches her adorable appearance.
