Pasowee
Pasowee is the Native American goddess of endurance. Pasowee had the ability to see through cultural stereotypes and endure the time needed to remove all obstacles.
Background Info:
Pasowee was brought into the city pound as a stray by a member of the public. She was thirsty, tired, and in all-around bad shape. She was also malnourished and full of milk. One of our volunteers immediately went to the location where she was found in search of her puppies but could not locate them. It's very possible that Pasowee was discarded by her previous owner after she was done nursing her puppies. We will never know. What we do know is that this enduring dog is incredibly sweet and so deserving of a better life...
Adoption Fee: $200
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 1 to 3
Weight: 50 to 60 Lbs
Color: Silver & White
Health Condition:
Pasowee came to us in bad shape but thankfully nothing serious. She had minor skin issues that were addressed immediately, most likely caused by stress, neglect and the lack of prenatal care before having puppies. All she needed was some TLC to gain her weight back, good nutrition and a comfortable environment.
Physical Description:
She looked a little rough when she arrived but has nicely blossomed into a real little beauty. She is still shedding some residual from the bad life and her dull and thin coat is quickly replaced by a healthy and shiny one. Pasowee is medium size and has the sweetest expression. Her eyes not only tell a story, but also how grateful she is to be given this precious chance.
Living Situation:
Pasowee is thriving at MPR shelter. She loves being pampered and having a lot of positive attention. She enjoys the large fenced yard and has recently discovered water fun in the kiddy-pool. It's been amazing to see her go from a dejected and mistreated abandoned dog to a fun-loving princess full of smiles and tail wags.
Personality:
Pasowee is a total sweetheart. How anyone maltreated such a little angel is beyond us. She is so sweet and polite and sensitive.
She was tired and weak when she came to us but has already gain a little more energy as she got better. The sadness we first saw in her eyes is gone! She is now a happy silly girl who loves to smiles and goof around like a normal dog.
Pasowee still has a docile nature, is a little submissive and very eager to please. But now she also has a playful side and cheerful personality. Almost a little mischievous at times but in a very endearing way. It's impossible to not be completely smitten by that little princess. She oozes love and adoration.
Behavior with people:
Pasowee is soaking up all the love she can get like water in the desert! The relief is unmistakable. She has a huge heart full of love for people but probably never had a chance to show it. She cant get enough now.
One of Pasowee's favorite thing is to roll on her back for belly rubs. She is totally adorable about it and impossible to resist.
Please don't apply for this sweetie pie if you are looking for an independent dog. We want her to be treated like a princess and receive as much love as she needs. She has sooo much to give back.
Behavior with children:
Unknown. Pasowee is sensitive. For her sake, we will not place her in a home with toddlers or rough-and-tough children. She's not a toy and we don't want to see her treated that way. Older, gentle and respectful kids are ok. In fact, we think she would love a home with children as she has a juvenile spirit and loves to goof around.
Behavior with other dogs:
Unknown. As of now, we prefer a home as the only pet for Pasowee. We don't think her past experiences with other dogs were necessarily very positive. We won't rule out a home with a compatible male, but he would have to be gentle and calm. Slow instructions are a must! We do believe she would love being the only dog in the home and receive all the love she needs instead of sharing.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown.
Training:
She's naturally easy and well-behaved. We haven't begun any formal training with her. Just teaching her the ropes of being in a home.
Best Attribute:
Let her eyes speak for themselves. She is as sweet as she looks.
