Paisley

Aquarelle icon.jpg
Paisley patterns are a classic design that evoke a sense of elegance and sophistication. The paisley design originated in India, near Kashmir. It's believed that the pattern was derived from the Zoroastrian symbol of a cypress plant combined with a floral spray to represent the tree of life.

Background Info:

Paisley was found as a stray by a member of the public and taken to the local animal shelter. The gentleman who found her said that he stopped because she didn’t appear to be in great shape. He suspected that she would run away from him when he approached, but instead she jumped right into his car! 😄 We’re so glad she was trusting of this gentleman so we can find her a worthy home.

Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 45-55 lbs
Health Condition:

On arrival, Paisley was very thin and had some skin issues that are being treated. She’s already gained 10 pounds since her rescue, and we expect her skin to heal.

Physical Description:

This sweetheart is about medium sized. She has tiny, cropped ears that lay flat, but one pokes up every once and awhile. Paisley has the goofiest grin that she shows off when she sees her leash for a walk or when she gets belly rubs.

Current Living Situation:

Paisley is fostered in a home with two adults, two teenagers, and some other four-legged friends – three young mixed-breed dogs, a pittie puppy, and a rabbit! She has access to a large fenced-in backyard but also gets taken on walks every evening.

She has not had any accidents in the house and she’s also crate-trained. She gets crated when home alone and has no trouble with it. At night, she’s treated to the freedom of sleeping loose in the house.

Personality:

She’s just the sweetest thing! And such a loving girl! Paisley just wants to cuddle and likes to bury her head in your chest and flop over for belly rubs. She’s very well-balanced with medium energy.

Behavior with people:

Paisley is outgoing and friendly with everyone. We should have known based on her rescue story 😊 She wants to give hugs to people she meets, so we are working on teaching her “four on the floor” for appropriate greetings.

Behavior with children:

She displays the same behavior with kiddos (wanting to show her love with a hug), so a home with older children or adults only is recommended.

Behavior with other dogs:

Before going into foster, Paisley did great in playgroups. She was described as gentle and dainty. Slow introductions to her foster siblings are a work in progress. Foster mom says she can sometimes be a little reactive towards other dogs when she’s out on a walk.

Behavior with other animals:

Paisley has not shown any sort of prey drive with the rabbit she shares a home with. We don’t know how she is with cats.

Training:

This gal is eager to please her humans. She knows basic commands like sit, shake, and down.

Best Attribute:

We may be biased, but we think Paisley is just about the sweetest girl you could ever meet! She has the best smile and her cuddles will always warm your heart. She loves to love and always wants to be by your side.
