Orson Bear
Orson is a name of French origin, meaning "bear cub." Stirring up cuddly, teddy-bear imagery.
Background Info:
This teddy bear was found as a stray. He's known in the rescue community because the poor guy has been in and out of shelters numerous times. His previous owner is houseless and Orson kept emerging after being found tied up in random places. We don't know how long he was in this situation, but we're glad to have the opportunity to help find him a furever home that can offer stability and routine.

Physical Description:
Orson Bear is all white except for a light brown patch over his left eye and a little brown dot atop his head. He has some light freckling on his mouth and natural ears. If he's not smiling with his mouth, his bright eyes sure are! They are a unique, almost light-yellow color that juxtapose nicely against his coat.
Current Living Situation:
This sweetheart is a resident at the MPR shelter and is learning the security of routine.
Personality:
Just like his namesake, he's a very sweet and snuggly bear! He seems well balanced and loves running the occasional zoomies around the yard. Orson is as smart as a whip! We can tell that he was taught some commands before coming to MPR. He is a very special dog who will absolutely steal your heart.
Behavior with people:
Orson is very socially acclimated due to his previous lifestyle. He's been in many different situations and handles it all like a champ. He wants to please his people so he is very responsive to redirection and learning new things. You can tell he just wants to be loved. Sometimes he almost falls asleep getting belly rubs.
Behavior with children:
We have not seen Orson with kiddos, but would not recommend a home with little ones until he learns good manners in showing his affection.
Behavior with other dogs:
Orson was found with a couple of other dogs at the encampment, so we know he's been around other dogs before. The shelter he was at before coming to MPR reported that he was social with other dogs in small playgroups. He could possibly live with a compatible female, but we want to make sure this sweetheart gets plenty of attention and feels safe and valued in his home.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown.
Training:
You can tell that someone has worked with Orson before. He knows some basic commands like "sit" and "wait." Orson is very smart and will thrive with some leadership and additional training. He surprised us with his behavior when it comes to bath time...he's an absolute saint! Volunteers have also reported that he's great on a leash!
