Background Info:

Mr. Jingles was found as a stray by a nice person who took him to the local shelter in hopes that someone would come get him. Sadly, he was never claimed. The staff brought him to our attention do to his tiny size, young age, and hilarious ears.

Health Condition:

Little guy is at the end of a mild case of kennel cough, but otherwise healthy and ready for adoption.



Physical Description:

Mini pitty! Mr. Jingles is under 40 lbs, but it's possible he still has some growing up to do. He won't be large, that's for sure. He is compact and has an adorable and expressive face, and the cutest silly ears that stand erect on his head. He's just too cute!



Living Situation:

Mr. Jingles is fostered in a home with older children, three dogs and two cats. He is getting a ton of socialization. He is a work in progress, but doing awesome.



Foster mom tells us that everything seems new to him, as if he had never been in a house with a family before. He is learning manners and potty training. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. He is still a puppy and very ready to experience the world.



Personality:

Alert, curious, and eager to learn all about the good life. Not dominant, but not overly submissive. Same with his level of energy. Mr. Jingles is a middle-of-the-road kind of guy. He does have some insecurities in new environments and when meeting new people, but nothing that he can't overcome.

A word from foster mom: "We call him our little nugget. He is very sweet and likes to spend time with us. We have taken him to our farm, which is 2 1/2 hours away and he travels well in the car. He loves the fresh air and the country side. He has slept in our bed a few times. It is a little hard to let him do it every night because 3 dogs in a bed makes it hard to sleep! I believe he can live anywhere and would adapt well in any home."


Behavior with people:

Great with women, but a little unsure with men he doesn't know. He warms up quickly though! With his loved-ones, he is a little ball of fun and cuddles.

Foster mom tells us that he does get a little needy and likes to glue himself to her. If she is too busy for him, he will find the kids and stay in their company.

Behavior with children:

Mr. Jingles loves kids but is still working on puppy behaviors. He needs to learn boundaries and appropriate contact. He wants to play but sometimes gets nippy. His foster family is working on it but we recommend a home with adults or older children for the moment. He will need a little bit of time to understand that using his mouth is not the proper way to establish a connection.



Behavior with other dogs:

He is fostered in a home with a Chihuahua and two Pit Bulls. Foster mom reports no serious issues with the other dogs. He does pester them to play a little more than they would like though, but this is due to him being much younger than them. An ideal situation for him would be in a home with an outgoing and playful female.

A word from foster mom: "I don’t believe he ever had a chance to play with other dogs. It took him a couple days to figure out how to play, but he is now thrilled to have doggy-friends."



Behavior with other animals:

He is living in with two cats right now and doing great with them. He might have a slight prey drive when it comes to animals outside though and could give a chase.

Training:

Mr. Jingles is very smart. He has learned "sit" and "kennel". He's actually very good in the crate and will even go in on his own when he wants to take a little nap.

A word from foster mom: "We are learning everything. Nobody had spent time with him teaching him even to sit. He now can sit and goes in the kennel very easily. He uses our dog door to go potty. When we are at the farm we don’t have a dog door so we have had a few accidents, but he seemed to be learning."

Best Attribute:

His small size is a great attribute. His silly ears, cute face, and expressive eyes too. He's smart and eager to learn.
