We don’t have any information about Lawrence’s background or upbringing in his short life so far, except that he was very malnourished at the time of his rescue. We promised Lawrence that he’d never go hungry again.

Lawrence is a growing boy. He put on 12 pounds the first two weeks in his foster home. He is neutered and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:
Loveable compact ball of muscle! Mostly brindle with a very distinct looking white patch on his head and chest with white paws and a cute white tip on one of his ears. Lawrence has warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. He also has that classic puppy forehead full of wrinkles. Awww!

Current Living Situation:
Lawrence is in a foster home with two adults and three children (ages 7 and up). There are also two other dogs in the home, a male terrier mix and a female bull terrier mix. He gets along with both and there is also an outdoor cat that sleeps on the porch at his foster home. He’s shown curiosity but keeps a safe distance. Lawrence has a big back yard that’s fenced in that he can romp and play in.

Lawrence is crate trained and stays in his crate or in the laundry room when home alone and at night. He has not had any accidents and is housebroken.

Personality:
Lawrence is your typical juvenile puppy – happy and curious with a touch of laziness mixed in. Foster mom says spends most of his day sleeping with his buddies, playing outside, and chewing on bones. She describes him as very chill and easy to handle.

From foster mom: “Lawrence is a chill dude… even as a puppy. I can only imagine what he'll be like when he's an adult. I've been so impressed with his interaction with my kids. He is a great family dog.”

Behavior with people:
Outgoing and friendly with everyone. Lawrence does get very excited when meeting new people but settles down quickly. His foster home was full of people during the holidays and Lawrence was the life of the party.

Behavior with children:
Lawrence is well behaved around children and is especially fond of the 11-year-old in his foster home. Foster mom thinks an ideal living situation would be a home with children for little Lawrence.

Behavior with other dogs:
Lawrence has been getting along great with the foster siblings in his home. The older male in the home can get grumpy with Lawrence sometimes, but Lawrence doesn’t bat an eye. He just ignores him and moves on. The female on the other hand has really bonded with him and they are constantly playing and sleeping together – they’re quite a cute pair! A home with a compatible female would be great for Lawrence.

Behavior with other animals:
There have not been any face-to-face interactions with the cat in Lawrence’s foster home. He shows some interest but keeps his distance. There is a mutual respect between them.

Training:
Lawrence is very responsive and eager to please. Foster mom says he’s smart and could easily pick up lots of tricks. When he came into our program he already knew “sit.” A big plus for Lawrence is that he’s already housebroken and is crate-trained. No chewing, no accidents, just zzzz’s.
