Jay

Aquarelle icon.jpg
The meaning of seeing a blue jay is to communicate well, persist, and plan for the future. It may also symbolize protection and fearlessness. The meaning of the name Jay is also "To rejoice" (from the Latin Gaius).

Adoption Fee: $ 200
Breed: Pit Bull/Am Staff
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 60-70 lbs
Health Condition:

Healthy and ready for adoption

Physical Description:

Handsome blue & white boy with a muscular body and a beautiful head. His ears are natural and soft. His dreamy eyes reflect his good nature and loving personality. Jay is a little larger than average, tall and big boned.

Current Living Situation:

Jay is being a good sport at MPR while awaiting his forever home. He keeps his kennel clean and neat. He is well-behaved for the most part but prefers being kenneled next to female dogs rather than males.

Personality:

Well-balanced, easy-going and responsive. Affectionate and eager-to-please. Jay is laid back most of the time but his happy-go-lucky personality cant be underestimated. He definitly has a playful side and loves a good bound of zoomies in the yard. He's a toy dog too and always ready to enjoy a good time.

Behavior with people:

Jay is a sweetheart with his loved-ones but might be a little protective when it comes to strangers. He warms up fast but does better with people who are comfortable with dogs. He's the kind of dog who will bond strongly with his family and get deeply attached. He's probably going to spend the rest of his life showing his gratitude and loyalty with a ton of love and dedication.

Behavior with children:

Unknown. While we haven't witnessed any interaction between Jay and kids as of now, we know that he is a big clumsy dog with occasional goofball moments. He might do well with older, bigger kids but could be a little too much dog for smaller kids. The fact that he is protective also, needs to be taken in consideration. He will surely love "his" kids but might feel the need to protect them when their friends come over.

Behavior with other dogs:

Though Jay has not been formally introduced to other dogs since being with us, he comes across as dominant towards other males. He might be a gentleman with the doggy ladies but we dont know for sure.

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown

Training:

Jay knows a few commands and we suspect someone had a heavy hand with him before. He is learning to trust again and thrives on positive leadership.
