Background Info:

Honeydew arrived to the city shelter as a stray. We have no information regarding her background and up-bringing.
Adoption Fee: $ 150
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yo
Weight: 45-55 lbs
Health Condition:
Honeydew had a mild case of conjunctivitis after her stay at the city pound, but it's being treated right now and her eye looks back to normal already. Otherwise she is healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:
Petite but mighty! She's a little ball of energy and muscles. Honey is a near perfect representative of the ABPT breed. She is well-proportioned, compact, athletic, and gorgeous. And look at her pretty face 😍

Current Living Situation:
Honeydew is currently living at MPR shelter and is no trouble at all. She keeps her kennel clean and uses her doggy door to let herself in her outdoor run if needed. She is not reactive towards the dogs kenneled next to her.

Personality:
Honeydew is the epitome of "fun-loving!" She has such a happy spirit and outgoing personality. She's always in a good mood and ready to have fun. She's a little more on the energetic side, but does enjoy cuddling and being pet when the time is right. Playing, chasing the balls, or running senseless zoomies are her favorite activities. In fact, one good thing about Honeydew is that she is great at self-entertaining with a toy. Snuggles are great too and belly-rubs are the best!

Behavior with people:
She's definitely a people-dog. Everyone she meets is a long-lost friend. If you are looking for a guard dog, she might not be your best option. She's expecting everyone to be her friend and greets all people with a ton of tail wags and happy-faces. She acts like a great breed ambassador and seems to possess many of the breed's best attributes.

Behavior with children:
Unknown. While she hasn't been with kids since being in our program, her positive and outgoing nature make her most likely compatible to a home with kids. That said, she is very energetic and loves a good "butt-run". She is also a little mouthy when excited and doesn't always realize that her happy energy can overwhelm sensitive people. We do not think she would be an ideal candidate in a home with toddlers, but she would probably have a blast in a house full of teenagers. She will for sure be the life of the party.

Behavior with other dogs:
She has not been introduced to other pets since being with us. During her very brief stay at the city pound however, she was part of a small playgroup and did fine under strict supervision. She might do well in a home with a young male who would appreciate her energy and let her be top dog, but she will not be placed with another female. We think she would be a great companion as an only pet.

Behavior with other animals:
Unknown

Training:
We are working on basic commands. She is smart and happy to learn. Honeydew appears housebroken, or at least, she prefers the yard or outside run to potty when given the choice.
