Background Info:

Elsa was rescued by a local dog trapping group after living on her own on the streets for at least a year. She first came on KC Dog Trappers' radar in December of 2022. Occasionally there would be sightings of her sunbathing in the grass, but anytime someone would try to interact with her, she would slip into the bushes and disappear. They didn't know where her hiding spot was. In December of 2023, a construction worker made a Facebook post about Elsa and wanted to get her some help. He had been working on a building next to a houseless camp. When he returned to the site four months later the camp was abandoned and strewn about. Elsa was there by herself, sleeping on a blanket. KC Dog Trappers then captured her in late December 2023. Elsa joined the MPR family shortly after, and she's been learning to live the good life in her foster home.

Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 2-4 yrs
Weight: 50-60 lbs
Health Condition:

Elsa is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. Other than that she is healthy and will be back on her feet soon.

Physical Description:

Elsa is an adorable pup with a perpetually sad, concerned face. Her tail will give away the fact that she is actually a very happy girl, though. Stature wise, she is on the petite side and has an athletic build. Her ears have a very cute shape.

Current Living Situation:

Elsa is currently fostered in a home with two adults and four other dogs. She has access to a small yard enclosed with a four-foot chain link fence. Elsa is left loose when foster parents are gone from the home, and she sleeps with them at night. Elsa is fed separately from the other dogs in the home. She has not shown any signs of food aggression or resource guarding. Elsa loves her occasional walks and car rides!

Personality:

Elsa is extremely easy-going and easy to handle. She is the cuddliest pup and thinks she's a lap dog! She loves to be curled up on the couch with her people.

Confined, tight spaces like hallways and doorways make her nervous at first, but she eventually becomes more comfortable.

Behavior with people:

Elsa can be reserved when first meeting new people, but she quickly warms up.

Behavior with children:

Elsa has had some interactions with small children (1.5 and 5 years old) visiting the foster home, and has done well! She has been well behaved in these interactions.

Behavior with other dogs:

There are four other dogs in Elsa's foster home, and Elsa has enjoyed being a part of the pack! With proper introductions, we believe that Elsa could do well with a compatible male dog in her forever home.

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown. Elsa has not had much exposure to other dogs while in her foster home.

Training:

Elsa is incredibly well-behaved. She has not had much formal training yet, but foster mom is working with her!

Best Attribute:

Elsa is the ultimate companion! Her sweet and cuddly nature makes her a best friend that will always be there for you!
