Background Info:

Drakkar was found tied up to a pole in Kansas city and no one ever came back for him. He was eventually taken to the local pound and made his way to our program. We do not have any information about his background or upbringing.

Adoption Fee: $ 200
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 55-65 lbs
Health Condition:

Healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:

Gorgeous! Drakkar has a striking and shiny black coat that looks like velvet. He is medium size, has an athletic build, and short cropped ears.

Current Living Situation:

This happy-go-lucky dude is having the time of his life at MPR shelter. Drakkar seems to enjoy every moment of his stay with us. He's a very positive dog who finds the good in all situations.

Drakkar is still young and very much an overgrown puppy. He does well in his kennel for the most part, but has been known to drag his blankets around. He's also gotten into a pillow or two; summer snow, ya know! Lol! He would benefit from being crated until he reaches maturity. He uses the doggy-door in his kennel to do his business outside if needed.

Personality:

Fun-loving fellow with an outgoing personality, friendly disposition, and confident nature. Drakkar's level of energy is medium to high. He is young and active but knows how to chill too.

Drakkar loves to jump, bounce around, and do zoomies. He also loves to lay next to you patiently and wait until you have time to play with him. He is not pushy but sure appreciates every bit of attention he can get.

Behavior with people:

Everyone is a long-lost friend. Drakkar simply knows no stranger. He loves people and loves to play. We think he'd make a great family companion in a home with older, active children. He might do well going on long walks and would love to be in the middle of the action with everyone.

Behavior with children:

Unknown but we don't see a problem placing him in a home with kids that are old enough to respect dogs, provide structure, and display positive leadership.

Behavior with other dogs:

Unknown. Though he hasn't been officially introduced to other dogs since being with us, at the shelter he shows no sign of aggression to other dogs in kennels next to him. He seems eager to make doggy-friends and appears to have the right personality to get along with a friendly, playful, and outgoing female. She'd need to be young and active enough to enjoy his happy energy.

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown

Training:

He knows the basics. He's a smart dog with a sharp personality. Curious, alert, and greatly interested in interaction. We bet he'd ace advance training and could enjoy doggy sports such as agility, dock diving, etc.
