Splash has been transferred to foster care. He's living in the suburbs with a 5ft chain link fence on 3 sides and a 6 ft wooden privacy fence on the fourth. There are two other dogs in his foster home but he has not been introduced yet. Splash benefits from having a backyard to run lots of zoomies. Splash also gets a daily walk with his foster parents. He spends around 6-8 hours in a large wire crate while his foster parents work and keeps his kennel clean. He also sleeps in his kennel at night.
Splash is a real charmer and very easy to love… He appreciates affection but enjoys his independence too. He'll cuddle when he's in the mood, but what he loves most is to play and be active. Splash can be clumsy, but it doesn't slow him down. He's very playful and full of life. He is responsive and easy to handle. He’s a lover and a leaner… He’ll lean against you until you either pet him or he falls over! He’s adorable!
Splash is easy to walk, does well on car rides and is very well behaved on outings. He enjoys playing with tennis balls and having a good time. Splash lets his foster mom hand feed him and no resource guarding. He's not a huge fan of baths, but likes to jump in the tub when the waters off. He also like to play in a doggy-pool outside.
Behavior with people:
So sweet and loving. Charming boy loves attention and does everything in his power to make you fall in love with him. He doesn’t need to work too hard. Those eyes are impossible to resist. One of his best tricks is to sit on your lap and adore you with his eyes. He’s quite the Romeo and a real hit with the ladies. He’s also a guy’s dog and loves to play fetch.
Behavior with children:
He’s briefly met children since being with us and did awesome with them. We think he’d make a great family companion in a home with kids.
Behavior with other dogs:
After a slow introduction with parallel walks and crate and rotate, Splash has meet his foster siblings. He's been behaved around them. He's still learning, but understands the cues they give him. We think Splash would be good in a home with a patient, compatible female.
Behavior with other animals:
No cats or small animals for Splash.
We are working on basic commands and he is very responsive. Splash is easy to walk. He has great house manners, is kennel trained and housebroken.
Definitely his sweet, loving, endearing nature, mixed with a touch of goofiness. He's not afraid to let you know how much he loves you and that you mean the world to him…
