Sonya is a female black bear in the movie Madagascar. She wears a pink tutu, has a bow in her hair, and rides on a tricycle.
Sonya was a public drop off to the local pound after being found as a stray. We have no info about her past but what ever it was, she's not dwelling.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull / Lab Mix
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 60-70 lbs
She is currently on antibiotics and benadryl. She chewed a spot at the base of her tail that might have been caused by fleas from lack of care before her rescue. Her coat is on the mend and looking better everyday. Other than that, she is healthy, spayed, vaccinated and ready for adoption.
A big girl with big mitts. She is likely to fill out and be more stocky. She's already gorgeous.
In a foster home with two adults and a mature male Pit Bull. She is crated when no one is home and no trouble at all. There's a 4' picket fence in her foster home, which she respects. At night, she is either in her crate or sleeping downstairs with her foster family.
Sonya loves to play, loves to give kisses, loves to snuggle and loves to sleep. She isn't overly energetic but is a strong girl. Due to this, a fenced-in yard is preferred so she can run around and get her energy out.
Sonya is laid back, confident and happy. Naturally well-behaved, easy to handle and a bit of a clown. She is a goofball who loves to give kisses, snuggle and play. She is cheerful but when done playing will lay down and be calm. She loooooves laying on the couch.
Behavior with people:
Sonya is outgoing and friendly with everyone. She really has no hang-ups and doesn't discriminate whats-so-ever. Everyone's a friend. Her foster parents claim that she has not met any strangers since coming to their house. No issue what-so-ever with this big lovable goof.
Behavior with children:
Though very easy-going in general, she occasionally gets jumpy when excited, so smaller children may not be ideal. That said, she is treat motivated and eager to please, so she could be taught to not jump. Overall, her personality seems compatible for a home with kids. She's very comfortable in her skin, composed and she doesn't sweat the small stuff.
Behavior with other dogs:
Sonya loves to play with the male dog in her foster home. She listens to his cues, at least most of the time. She occasionally forgets how big she is, which is about twenty pounds over him, but does settle down when told to and listens well.
Behavior with other animals:
She knows sit, shake and lay down. She needs to wear a harness when on a walk or she pulls. According to her foster parents she is crate trained and house trained, very treat motivated and likes to please her people.
A black beauty with the cutest head tilt. And her eyes are adorable. Sonya loves to be with her people and is just about as easy-going as they come.
