Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures

Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.

We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.

We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.

Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Background Info:

Sid was brought to the local shelter by a good Samaritan. We don’t know anything about his past except that he was sadly never reclaimed by his owners.

Adoption Fee: $175
Breed: Pit Mix
Sex: male
Age: 10-18 mths
Weight: 35-45 lbs and still growing

Health Condition:

Sid is finishing up treatment for a mild case of kennel cough, otherwise he is healthy and ready to be adopted!

Physical Description:

Sid is a medium sized boy with some growing left to do. He’s white with a black snoot and the most adorable, freckled ears. He has the cute puppy head tilt nailed down and whenever he does it, those floppy ears become the star of the show! We named him Sid since his eyes are spaced quite far apart, like the character in Ice Age.

You’ll get the reference if you see him in person. 😂

Current Living Situation:

While we don’t know what his life was like before MPR, Sid sure loves being a part of the pack in his foster home. There are four adults in the home, but Sid especially likes his doggy playmates. He shares his foster home with three male pitties and one female.

Personality:

Just like his namesake, Sid is a goofy guy. His energy level is medium and he’s super easy to handle. He loves getting attention and pets, but he’s never pushy about it.

Behavior with people:

A perfect gentleman when meeting new people. Sid is friendly and outgoing with everyone.

Behavior with children:

Unknown. He briefly met four and six-year-old children and foster mom says he did great. Sid has not shown any behavior that would concern us around kiddos.

Behavior with other dogs:

LOVES, LOVES, LOVES other dogs! Sid simply adores other dogs and wants to play non-stop. Foster mom says he gets along swimmingly with his foster siblings and would love a furever home with a compatible sister to have fun with.

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown.

Training:

Foster mom says that Sid is very responsive and eager to please. He takes corrections well. Crate and potty training are a work in progress for this young boy, but he’s already mastered walking on a leash with good manners.

Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for their care.
