Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures
Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.
We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.
We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.
Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.
Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Nougat is healthy and ready for adoption
Nougat has a very unique pattern to her fur - being both brindle and merle. Her coat along with her strikingly beautiful eyes makes her truly one of a kind!
Current Living Situation:
Nougat is currently living in a foster home where she is able to enjoy daily walks and a backyard with a 6-foot privacy fence. She lives with two adults and a furry foster brother in the home. Nougat is doing great in her foster home! She's adjusting well to her new surroundings and quickly found her favorite places to relax.
Nougat is crated when left home alone. She also sleeps in her crate overnight.
Nougat is a cuddly, affectionate, and yet independent little pittie girl. She's never too far away, but respectful of your space.
She has an instinctive ability to please and be playful. When relaxing, you’ll find her within reach for scratches. When playing you’ll find an excited happy pup smiling back at you.
Her foster mom describes her as a well balanced dog with a medium energy level. This lovable goofball is eager to please her humans and very responsive to directions. Overall, this happy, easy-going girl is a dream to be around!
Behavior with people:
This social butterfly has never met a stranger! She's well behaved when meeting new people and is an equal opportunity kiss giver. She's exhibited great social skills with all adults she's encountered!
Behavior with children:
Unknown. There are no children in her foster home. With the proper supervision, she could potentially live with children.
Behavior with other dogs:
After slow introductions, Nougat enjoys co-existing with her foster brother. They are doing well so far with proper supervision. Nougat could thrive as an only pet or in a home with a compatible male with slow introductions.
Behavior with other animals:
Squirrels and rabbits excite Nougat while on walks. Her instinct is to chase these smaller animals, but she responds very well to redirection and proper training. It is unknown if she could live in a home with cats.
Nougat is a great listener! She reads body language and vocal tones really well. She's a champion of basic commands like sit, down, come, stay, etc. She is a well-mannered lady!
Nougat is confident and sweet. This is a well-rounded, very easy to get along with dog. She’ll play, she’ll cuddle, she’ll fetch, she’ll give kisses. She’s well-behaved, and has lots of personality. There’s a genuine sweetness that you can see in her eyes! She even lets out a soft little howl when she gets excited.
Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for their care.
