Those puppies are very lucky. Unlike so many Pit Bulls, they were born in a rescue program, in the care of a loving foster-mom, sheltered from all trouble and misfortune. The puppies have been receiving the best of care, been kept indoors, have been pampered and dearly loved since the day they were born. In addition, they are too cute for words and their mom is an outstanding representative of breed. These little guys have everything on their side to go on in life, happy and spoiled, never experiencing heartaches and worries. Sadly, not all Pit Bulls are born so blessed. Way too many suffer a great deal of neglect and abuse at the hands of unscrupulous individuals. Sometimes life offer them a reprieve and they land in the care of a rescue program like MPR.
In order to help dogs that are not as privileged as these little guys, MPR has made the decision to embrace the puppies' good fortune and set their adoption fee to $300.00 each. The fee will include vaccinations, wormers, spay/neuter, microchips and precious assistance to less fortunate dogs. Please remember that no one at MPR is paid for their hard work. We are a non-profit organization. The adoption fees of those puppies are not going in anyone’s pocket but the dogs. It is for THEIR sake that we are raising the fee. The contribution of the puppies’ adopters will save many lives.
The puppies will be ready to go home at 9 weeks old. We are taking applications now and approved homes are given the option to pay the adoption fee to reserve a puppy. Applications are processed in order they are received. Homes will be selected according to compatibility. While we prefer homes in the Greater Kansas City area, we will consider from out of state as well. Please do some research and make sure a Pit Bull is the breed for you before putting in your application. We also recommend that you think this decision through. Everybody wants a puppy but not everyone is ready to make a 15 year commitment to a dog.
