Murphy is staying at MPR shelter and doing very well. He quickly learned the shelter routine and to keeps his kennel clean - He has a kennel with access to an outdoor run with a doggy-door. Of all the dogs in our program, Murphy is the best adapted to shelter life. He is as easy as can be, never complain and takes everything in stride.
Murphy enjoys spending time on a chair or deck in the fenced yard when the temperature is nice outside. He is quiet and very well behaved. Murphy has not tried to escape the yard or his kennel. He seems very content where ever he is. He does have a prey drive however, and likes to chase lizards and squirrels.
Happy-go-lucky goofball. His appearance fits his personality. He's a fun-loving funny-looking little clown. No one can keep a serious face when Mr Murph is around. He cracks everyone up with his silly antics and he knows it. You can tell he loves to entertain and be the life of the party. Very sociable little guy.
Behavior with people:
Though he loves the volunteers, Murphy can be a little reserved with strangers, especially if he's in the yard and someone walks by. He warms up quickly though and makes friends easily.
Murph is playful but not hyper. He likes to run around in the yard for a little while, but definitely has a pronounced couch-potato side . Murphy is not shy but his expression is sometimes hard to read. He has a Bulldog face with a short snout and huge head. He's a very good looking comical little guy.
Behavior with kids:
No kids! Murphy needs a home with adults only, or older, bigger children.
Though Murphy is not on the offensive towards female,s he is very dominant with other males. He needs to be an only pet.
Murphy is very well behaved and easy to handle. He is a laidback, easy-going kind of guy and has no problem learning the basic. Serious obedience training is probably not his thing though. Murphy is house broken and never has any accident in his kennel.
This dog is really, really cute! He attracts attention everywhere he goes. People just can't get over what a cute and silly little clown he is. If you are looking for a 4-legged companion to cheer you up after a hard day at work, Murphy won't fail to bring a smile on your face just by being his adorable happy self.
Note that Murphy's small size and easy-going personality makes him a great candidate for a small house in town or apartment life (we do contact landlords and verify pet policies).
