Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.
We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.
We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.
Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.
Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.
Background Info:
Mishka was found by a good Samaritan and taken to the city animal shelter. When she arrived, she was still lactating and emaciated. Thankfully we had a spot in our program for her, so she has a safe place to recuperate.

Health Condition:
Mishka is gaining weight back and transforming into a stunning angel. She does not have any other health concerns and is ready to find her furever home!
Physical Description:
What. A. Cutie! She’s a short lowrider with a crooked tail – probably from the Frenchie mix in her. 😊 Mishka is fawn colored with an adorable smoky face and perky ears that fold over. We love her droopy jowls and just want to kiss her smoosh face all the time!
Current Living Situation:
Mishka is learning the ropes at the MPR shelter. She’s quiet and keeps her kennel clean. She uses her doggy door to do her business in her outside run, though she does have occasional accidents inside while she’s adjusting to her new surroundings.
Personality:
Such a sweetheart! She’s well-balanced and easy-going. Mishka is a lowkey couch potato. We think that this princess has 100% earned that right after her previous life of being used as a breeding machine.
Behavior with people:
Loves to meet new people! She’s friendly without being too needy, although she does prefer to be near you.
Behavior with children:
Unknown. We don’t have any info about her background but think she would do fine with well-mannered kiddos.
Behavior with other dogs:
She’s non-reactive to the other dogs in the kennel area. Mishka showed appropriate play behavior at the city shelter. She could possibly live with a compatible male dog, though she may prefer to be the queen of her castle after being used to mass produce puppies.
Behavior with other animals:
We haven’t seen a prey-drive from her yet, though she is still coming out of her shell.
Training:
Mishka is responsive to redirection and really wants to please her human. She seems to be picking up the basic commands at the shelter so far.
Best Attribute:
This little doll is a quiet, endearing, loving princess who just wants to make you happy. She’s truly a ray of sunshine and can’t wait to find her family who will appreciate all she has to offer. No bad days with Mishka in your life!
