Mayoree is derived from Thai origins. The meaning of the name is beautiful. Also, a variation of Myra, from the Latin myrra, meaning "myrrh". Myrrh purifies the area, lifts the vibrations, aids contemplation and meditation and creates peace.
Hard to believe that such a sweetheart would be abandoned at the pound by her family, but that's exactly what happened to this loving girl. Thankfully the staff made a plea for her rescue and Mayoree has now been given a chance to find love in our program.

Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for her care.
Mayoree is currently in a foster home. Her foster mom states that she is perfect in the house. She’s housetrained, non-destructive, quite, and calm. She’s great meeting people and greets them politely.
Easy, loving and very well behaved. May is eager to please and knows how to win people over with her sweet eyes. Though she is still under the weather and we might not get to know her real self for a few more weeks, May’s personality is somewhat on the submissive side and her energy level appears to be medium-low. She loves the occasional butt-run in the yard but cuddling on someone’s lap is by far her favorite thing. This sweetie doesn’t know a stranger and would naively follow just about anyone. Please don’t rely on her to be a guard dog. She is way too loving, unsure and naïve for that.
Behavior with people:
She’s a doll! Super sweet, loving, eager to please, affectionate and anxious to give her heart to anyone who treats her with kindness. She is soaking up love like there is no tomorrow and though she seems baffled by all the positive attention she is getting, she is very grateful. You can tell she has waited all her life to be loved and have a chance to love, and can’t get enough of it now.
May can be slightly timid with strangers until she knows they have no ill intentions towards her. She is not shy or shady. Just a little unsure. She warms up very quickly. She obviously craves attention and wants nothing more than reassurance and a loving hand.
Behavior with children:
Mayoree has not been around children since being with us. She has such a good heart though, we don’t think little-ones would be a problem. For her sake, however, because she is sensitive and a little insecure, we prefer a home with older, gentle and respectful kids or adults only.
Behavior with other dogs:
May has not been around other dogs since being in our program. She could do well with a younger male with a slow introduction or would be great by herself.
Behavior with other animals:
May is no trouble at all at the shelter. She keeps her kennel clean and doesn’t destroy her bedding. She is responsive and eager to please. We think this sweetheart would be easy to handle for just about anyone. She doesn’t have a dominant or intense personality. She is smart but not necessarily driven to learn a ton of tricks. She just wants to be a loving, non-complicated companion and share the love.
A beauty inside out. You can see the love in her eyes. May is the kind of Pit Bull that will become a great ambassador for the breed. She has all the great qualities of the breed, including a fantastic disposition.
