We are unsure of Mac's past, but we know that he recently lived with a family with children and another dog. He lost his home after escaping a yard with a broken fence and taking upon himself to visit the neighbor's dog. After a complaint from the neighbor, Mac's family decided to return him to MPR.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull/AmStaff
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 55-65 lbs
Healthy and ready for adoption.
Drop-dead-gorgeous! Great breed standard. Perfectly proportioned. He looks like a show dog. His beautiful eyes seem highlighted by eyeliner, hence his name.
Mac is currently staying at MPR's shelter and he's pretty bummed about it. He thought he had it made with a caring family but lost it all again. He is a little depressed right now but we are doing our best to cheer him up. Hopefully a sweetheart like him wont have to wait too long. In the meantime, he is great in his kennel, quiet and patient. He doesn't destroy his bedding and keeps his area clean.
A sweetheart with a fun-loving nature. He's a young dog and like all teenager Pit Bulls, he needs structure and leadership but is easy to handle overall.
Mac's energy level is conform to the breed. He loves roughhousing and zoomies but will enjoy a cuddle session just as much.
While not overly dominant, Mac is confident and smart. He's very much a typical young Pit bull dog and possesses great breed traits.
Behavior with people:
Mac thrives in the company of people. He is responsive, though his joyful personality when greeting loved-ones can sometime take the best of him for a few minutes. He's a people-lover and cant always contain his excitement but he gets back to his good behavior quickly.
Behavior with children:
Mac did well in a home with kids for the most part but could get mouthy when playing. We believe Mac would do better in a home with older children unless the parents have good experience with young, assertive dogs and can control roughhousing.
Behavior with other dogs:
Mac lived with a smaller female Pit Bull and did well with her. He does like to play hard but is responsive. Mac will not be placed in a home with another male.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown but we dont recommend a home with cats.
Very little training at this time but he's a fast and motivated learner. He keeps his kennel clean, is crate trained and knows basic commands.
Mac is a great representative of the breed, inside and out. He has both, amazing beauty and a great temperament. He's a typical young Pit Bull, full of charm and enthusiasm for life.
