Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures

Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.

We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.

We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.

Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Background Info:

Adoption Fee: $300
Breed: Pit Bull Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5+ mths
Weight: Growing

Health Condition:

Gulliver is healthy and ready for his forever home!

Physical Description:

Gulliver has a beautiful blue and white coat and big blue eyes full of curiosity. His stature makes him look like he will be a “permanent puppy” as he hasn’t grown much in the height category. But he’s a healthy boy at 35 - 40lbs.

Current Living Situation:

Gulliver is fostered in a home with two adults, two dogs, and a kitten. He has access to a small yard with a 6-ft privacy fence, and loves spending time there!

Gulliver is very food driven, so he is fed separately from the other dogs in the home. He is crate trained and stays in his kennel when left home alone and at night. He sleeps well in his crate with no complaints, but he loves to snuggle in bed with this furry foster siblings and humans for some wind down time.

Gulliver has free rein of the house when foster parents are home, but they keep a watchful eye on him! He is in the typical puppy stage where he is very curious and shows little fear!

Personality:

Gulli is a total ham! He loves to let his energy out in the yard and then come inside and get some snuggle time in! He is a snuggle monster and loves to be as close as possible to his furry foster siblings or his humans! At times, he shows independence and entertains himself by chewing on a bone or sunbathing in his favorite chair.

Gulliver is a very sweet natured boy with a good temperament. He is young, playful, and goofy dog who would love a forever home where he can stay active!

Behavior with people:

Gulliver is outgoing and friendly with everyone he meets!

Behavior with children:

Unknown. Gulliver has not had exposure to children while in his foster home.

Behavior with other dogs:

Gulliver has been getting along with the two other dogs in his foster home. He is respectful of his furry foster siblings and continues to learn from them. While we can not guarantee his behavior with other dogs, at this time we believe he could live with a compatible female in his forever home, following proper introductions.

Behavior with other animals:

Gulliver has not shown signs of prey drive so far. He has been introduced to and interacts well with the 6-month old kitten in his foster home. We don't know if this will be the case with all cats/small animals, so slow introductions and close supervision would be necessary in a home with these types of other pets.

Training:

Gulli appears to be house broken and is crate trained. He knows simple obedience, like how to sit. Foster parents are working with him on recall - he seems to respond well to a good, strong whistle.

Because Gulliver is still young, he would benefit from continued leadership, consistency, and training in his forever home!

Best Attribute:

Gulli is a confident dog who will quickly make himself comfortable in his forever home! He is a smart and happy dog who will bring both playfulness and snuggles to your home!
