Short underpants or loose-fitting short pants gathered at the knee.
Found as a stray by a member of the public, brought to the city shelter and never claimed. We do not have any information regarding Knicker's past. We named him that way because he has a cute patch of tan hair on his behind that makes him looks like he's wearing shorts.
Adoption Fee: $200
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Age: 10-14 mts
Weight: 65-75 lbs
Knickers is healthy and ready for adoption.
Medium size, somewhat tall but still gaining weight and widening. It's possible that Knickers has some American Bulldog in his background but we cant tell for sure.
After spending a few weeks at MPR shelter, Knickers was recently transferred to a foster home with two human adults and a 5 yo female Pit Bull.
Foster mom tells us that he is crate-trained and no trouble at all. He sleeps soundly in his crate at night and when foster parents aren't home.
There is a 6' privacy fence and he does very well in the yard.
A silly clown who's also a bit insecure. Still very juvenile so we are working on socialisation. He might have been neglected growing up and needs to learn about the world now. He's definitly curious and interested.
Knickers has a typical level of energy for a young dog his age. While he enjoys a good run in the yard, his foster mom tells us he's rather calm in the house and loves to chill on the couch with a toy.
He's not exactly a push-over but not defiant either. He's well-balanced when it comes to temperament, just a little bit insecure. Nothing that seems problematic. He's improving everyday.
Knickers loves playing fetch and is a hard chewer. He loves Nylabone, antlers, and kongs.
Behavior with people:
Friendly with those he knows well but a bit hesitant with strangers. He warms up fast and happily turns on the charm-machine. Knickers has an endearing personality and wins people-over quickly.
Behavior with children:
There are no kids in his foster home. Foster parents tell us however, that due to his age and size, Knickers would do best in a home with no small children. Knickers can be mouthy and play rough.
Behavior with other dogs:
When Knickers was at MPR shelter, he was non-reactive towards other dogs he saw through kennels. He didn't show any sign of being upset or challenged by the presence of other dogs nearby.
He is currently in the process of being introduced to his older foster sister. She is set in her ways so needs a little time to accept newcomers. Knickers seems very ready to be friends already. He'll need to be more patient. We will update his bio as the relationship between the dogs evolves. As of now, we feel hopeful that Knickers could share a home with a compatible female and would enjoy a doggy friend. Keep in mind that he is young and playful and his roughhousing could overwhelm an older dog.
Behavior with other animals:
Knickers appears to have a high prey drive with squirrels rabbits and birds.
House broken. Knows to sit, lay down, and look. Learning roll-over and shake. He is eager to please but also get very excited and is still learning manners. No jumping and being mouthy.
Knickers does need to be crated when home along as he is still learning to differentiate between people's things and dog-toys. That said, his foster mom tells us that given the right attention and chew toys he has been wonderful in the home.
We love his markings that looks like shorts and his happy-go-lucky personality fits the outfit!
