Kehlani: In Hawaiian the meaning of the name Kehlani is: Sea and sky
Miss Kehlani was found as a stray in bad shape, but happy to be rescued. Brought to the city pound and never claimed, which we believe was good thing. We told her she will never have to look back and can now start smiling at life. It will only get better for here on.
Adoption Fee: $150
Age: 1-3 yr
Color: Blue and white
Kehlani was dirty, malnourished and heartworm positive when she came to us. She has been treated and is now fully recovered and back on her feet :-)
Medium size blue beauty. Well proportioned and standard to the breed.
Kehlani is fostered in a country home with a single woman and an adult male Pit Bull. No children in the home but occasional visits to nieces and nephews.
There are horses on the property and a short chain link fence. No attempts to climb or jump so far.
Kell is crated when foster mom is at work and sleeps in the crate at night. She does well in a crate for up to 8 hours at the time.
Kehlani does great in car and loves going on outings. Foster mom is working on leash training.
Happy, outgoing goofball. Energetic and playful. She loves everyone and has a very spirited personality.
Behavior with people:
Everyone is a long lost friend! Kell is your typical fun-loving Pit Bull who thinks everyone loves her as much as she loves them. A positive dog who oozes happiness and love for life. Discovering the good life has brought the biggest smile in this dog's face and she still cant believe her luck! She's a happy goof, very easy to connect with.
Behavior with children:
While a little excitable when meeting young kids, she is responsive to leadership. We believe she would do well in a home with older and active kids. We bet she would love a big busy family where she can always find someone to entertain with her silly antics.
Behavior with other dogs:
She loves to play with other dogs and should do well in a home with a compatible male. She does great with the older male in her home who often gets overwhelmed by other dogs. He seems to like Kell and her happy spirit.
Behavior with other animals:
Still reactive to the horses that she occasionally sees from 100ft away. Appears to have a high prey drive. She has not been around cats but we think she would do best in a home with no small pets.
Loves treats. Has learned sit and down. Working on basic obedience.
Her sheer joy. She's always happy. Comes out of her crate spinning and ready for whatever fun is heading her way. She's a riot with an awesome positive energy.
