Harvey was giving up by his family because they were moving and couldn't take him with them. He was brought to the city pound where the staff immediately told us about him. They could tell what a wonderful little guy he was and they were absolutely right!
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull
Age: 10-16 months
Color: White and black
Harvey is healthy and ready for adoption.
Harvey is fostered in a home with children, other dogs and cats. He gets along wonderfully with everyone.
We do know from his previous family also, that he lived with children ranging 12 to 17 from puppy-hood. He also lived with two other dogs and a cat. Needless to say, this guy has been well socialized since a very young age.
He is as photogenic as he is cute. Average size but might not be completely full gown yet. He is very well proportionate and absolutely gorgeous.
Easy-going and cuddly. He loves to play with toys and knows how to entertain himself.
Behavior with people:
Very friendly and at ease with everyone he meets. As of now, he's not much of a guard dog since everyone is considered a best friend forever.
Behavior with children:
Harvey is great with older kids. We dont know how he would do with toddlers. He's been around teens and pre-teens all his life and enjoys their company.
Behavior with other dogs:
Harvey does well with the dogs in his foster home and was best friends with the dogs in his previous home. We believe he would thrive in a home with a compatible female.
Behavior with other animals:
While he does fine with the cats in the house, he might bark at cats and squirrels outside.
He's on his way to being completely house-trained. He is crate trained but has been known to get out of the kennel if its not secure. He's still a puppy and can get into stuff such as trash but foster mom is working on it.
Harvey knows a few simple commands. He was not allowed on the furniture in his previous home but foster mom might have broken that rule.
This little guy is awesome on so many levels! We dont expect having him in the program very long so dont miss your chance!
