Flik is a nerdy, intuitive and inventive ant in the Disney movie "A Bug's Life". Flik wants to make a difference to his colony's way of life, but has a tendency to make things worse in the process.
Flik was found as a stray and taken to the city shelter. He was never claimed. We unfortunately have no other information regarding his past life and background.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
Age: 1-3 yrs.
Weight: 55-65 lbs.
Flik arrived to the pound emaciated. He is still a little thin but continues to gain weight. He's healthy and ready for adoption.
Flik is average size for a male. He has a lean stature, gorgeous dark blue coat and evenly cropped ears. Very stunning boy.
Flik is currently living at MPR's facility, handling his stay at the shelter like a trouper. He is quiet and well behaved in his kennel. non reactive towards other dogs and non destructive of his bedding. He uses the doggy-door to potty in his outside run if he has to go. He's also a gentleman when left alone in a playroom. He'll lay on the couch and wait patiently until a volunteer comes spend time with him. He's no trouble at all and has quickly won-over the volunteers with his charm and good manners,
Dainty, polite, vigilant and curious. Medium to low energy. He'll play a little but has a rather chill personality. The dog is very charming and easy-to-love.
Behavior with people:
Very loving to his loved-ones, he can be reserved upon meeting strangers. He warms up quickly. It's possible he will become a little protective of his family but should do well at reading their cues.
Behavior with children:
He hasn't been around kids since being in our program. While we think he would do well with all members of his family, we believe its possible he could become a little protective of "his" kids with their friends. We think Mr Flik would do better in a home with adults only and responsible ownership.
Behavior with other dogs:
He was introduced to some dogs recently and wasn't overly eager to make friends. Stiff and dominant towards other males but he was also standoffish and a little nervous around females. It's possible he could share a home with a compatible doggy friend if someone is willing to do a slow introduction but he would do best as an only pet.
Behavior with other animals:
He's very sharp and eager to learn. He knows some basic commands already and has the right temperament to ace obedience training.
Flik is very charismatic and well-mannered. He seems like an overall easy-to-handle companion with a smart personality and pleasant nature. As if this wasn't enough, he's stunning looking!
