Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures

Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.

We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.

We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.

Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Background Info:

Everest’s story begins with heartbreak and heroism. On a bitterly cold morning, she was abandoned in a box in the parking lot of a shelter—giving birth or having just given birth. Thankfully, she wasn’t out there for long before help arrived. But a shelter is no place to raise a family, so MPR stepped in to make sure Everest and her babies would be safe and warm. Despite all odds, Everest rose to the occasion like a champ. One of her tiny pups sadly didn’t make it, but Everest poured every ounce of herself into mothering the rest. According to her foster, she has been one of the best moms ever—gentle, attentive, selfless, and fiercely devoted. She did everything a mom dog should do, and then some.

Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 40-50 lbs

Health Condition:

Everest has weaned her puppies and is officially ready for her next adventure—finding a forever family of her very own. She’s healthy, happy, and full of love to give.

Physical Description:

Everest is the definition of a pocket pittie—around 45 pounds of pure charm and charisma. Her soft fawn coat with white accents, expressive hazel-green eyes, and those adorably floppy ears make her an instant head-turner. Whether she’s giving you her signature side-eye or flashing her dazzling, goofy grin, Everest has a face you won’t forget.

Current Living Situation:

She is currently being spoiled (as she deserves!) in a loving foster home.

Personality:

Everest is that perfect blend of playful pup and professional cuddler. She has a puppy-like bounce in her step and a heart full of affection. Whether she’s prancing around the yard or melting into your lap, she radiates happiness. She absolutely lives for attention and will happily soak up every belly rub, ear scratch, and loving gaze you have to offer.

Behavior with people:

She’s never met a stranger. Everest is quick to trust, easy to love, and always ready to be your new best friend. Winning her over doesn’t take much—just a little love and maybe a treat or two.

Behavior with children:

Everest has done wonderfully with the children she’s been around so far.

Behavior with other dogs:

Everest hasn’t had a chance to meet other dogs yet. As a devoted mama, she’s been focused on raising her pups and has been kept separate from other dogs during that time.

Behavior with other animals:

She hasn’t been introduced to other animals yet, so that remains unknown for now.

Training:

Let’s be honest—Everest hasn’t had time for formal training. She’s been working the ultimate full-time job: raising a litter of pups! But with her eager-to-please attitude and bright spirit, she’s ready to learn whatever her forever family is excited to teach her. And besides, she already thinks she’s perfect… and she kind of is.

Best Attribute:

Everest’s spirit is as bright as her past is brave. She didn’t just survive—she mothered with her whole heart. She gave everything to her puppies and now, for the first time, it’s her turn to be someone’s baby. She’s silly, soulful, and full of life. With those big, emotional eyes and her constant readiness for joy, Everest brings light into every room she enters. She’s the kind of dog who changes lives—and the lucky family who adopts her will be forever grateful she came into theirs.
