Ella Cowbelle is a character in the Disney Junior series, Sheriff Callie's Wild West. She is a cow who runs a milk saloon and serves up frosty glasses of milk and delicious milkshakes.
Ella Cowbell was picked up by Animal control after receiving a call that she was running around in the middle of the street, about to get hit by cars. She was taken to the city shelter and never claimed.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 35-45 lbs
Color: White and Dark Brown
She was in bad shape upon arrival, thin, dirty, covered in wounds, etc, but has nicely recovered since then. She is now healthy and ready for adoption.
Ella is smaller than average and looks like she might have Boston Terrier in her. She has an adorable face with a cute overbite and expressive eyes. Ella might be able to live in some municipalities with mild BSL.
Ella is adjusting to life at MPR, which is likely much better than what she had before. She is a little timid and sensitive so loud noises frighten her but she's doing her best to keep her chin up. We are hoping to find her a home or a foster as soon as possible, as she deserves to know what pampered home-life is all about.
Ella is a little conflicted right now. We believe she was born an outgoing, happy and playful little dog, but a hard life filled with abuse and neglects has left her somewhat emotionally fragile. She is very timid when she first comes out of her kennel, especially if other dogs are barking around her, but as soon as she realizes people dont intend to hurt her, she becomes a little ball of fun. She definitly has a fun-loving and merry side, and can be quite the funny little clown, but its not the first behavior she demonstrates on initial meeting.
Behavior with people:
She's coming out of her shell a little more everyday. She wants to love people and have fun but harsh treatment at the hands of humans have taught her to be unsure and cautious. She needs a patient home where she'll be given the time to learn to trust and to discover human affection. She really wants to already.
Behavior with children:
Unknown but we prefer a home with adults for this cutie or perhaps teenagers that are mature enough to respect her sensitivity and work around her quirks.
Behavior with other dogs:
Ella needs to be an only pet. She obviously had negative experiences with other dogs in the past and we dont want to cause her additional stress by expecting her to develop a relationship with other animals.
Behavior with other animals:
Ella needs to be an only pet.
Not much training but she is curious and treat motivated. She quickly learned to use her doggy-door and lets herself in the outdoor part of her kennel to do her business. That said, she is still learning the ways of home-living. She is by no mean defiant about inside rules - She was just never taught anything. She needs time, consistency, a gentle hand and positive leadership.
Discovering the good life is a learning curve for Miss Ella and we hope someone will offer to be the person to embark in this journey with her. Overall, she is not a difficult dog at all. She is just quirky and awkward in her interaction with people and perplexed on how to behave as a family companion. Nothing inherently or irreparably wrong with her. She was obviously never given a chance to be a well-cared for pet so she has no clue. We have no doubt that within a few weeks of good care, she will adjust and become a well behaved, happy and very grateful little princess.
