Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures
Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.
We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.
We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.
Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.
Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.
Background Info:
Cybele came into the city shelter as a stray showing as fully pregnant and in labor with a putrid smell. They determined she had two very large deceased pups stuck inside. They performed a lifesaving emergency spay and she started her healing process. We are honored to give her a new chance on life.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 6-8 yrs
Weight: 50-60 lbs
Health Condition:
Cybele is healing from her many years used for breeding. When she came into the city shelter she was already producing milk and in labor but nothing was coming of it. Luckily the staff knew the smell coming from her was indicative of a deceased pup stuck in her birth canal. Cybele is alive because of their fast action as she was very close to going sepsis. She has since put on healthy weight and her scars from that emergency surgery are slowly diminishing. During her spay they did detect a heart murmur which she has likely lived with her whole tough life and we are keeping an eye on.
Physical Description:
Cybele has the most endearing beautiful round dark seal eyes. She is a medium sized gal with a stunning brindle blue coat.
Current Living Situation:
This gal hit the jackpot with her foster home aficionado! She seems to be fitting into home life from the get go! More to come from foster mom soon!
Personality:
Love just exudes out of this lady of love! She could not be any more endearing and loyal to her humans, to know Cybele is a lucky thing.
Behavior with people:
Cybele loves to greet all the people she can with a wagging tail and happy smile. If you're lucky you may even get a wooo out of her :)
Behavior with children:
We have not seen her around kids yet, but think she could live in a home with appropriate children.
Behavior with other dogs:
We think she could live with a compatible male.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown at this time.
Training:
Cybele seems to know sit already and is working on more training commands.
Best Attribute:
This angel girl just has love to give to her humans and we can't get enough of it!
Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for their care.
