Of greek origin, meaning “Dark Blue Sky”.
We were floored to hear this beautiful girl was found as a stray and never claimed. We can't tell her breed for sure since we dont know her background, but she looks very much like a full blooded Cane Corso. In addition, she has a wonderful temperament. Why her family didn't come looking for her is beyond us.
Adoption Fee: $200
Breed: Cane Corso Mix
Age: 2-5 yrs
Weight: 75-85 lbs
Cyanea is healthy other than being heartworm positive. She began treatment this summer and should be completely in the clear by fall 2020. Until then, Cy could still be adopted to a local home that would be able to keep her calm and quiet during the duration of her treatment.
Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for her care.
She's BIG! You can't really tell from the pictures but she's much larger than an average female Pit Bull. She's also has a little more Mastiff-like features. She's also drop-dead gorgeous! Her coat is thick, healthy and velvety.
Cyanea is patiently waiting for her chance to find love at MPR shelter. She is such a trouper about her situation. One of the most gracious dog in our program. She's an angel at the shelter. Calm, quiet, well-behaved, easy and so eager-to-please. We still cant believe a great dog like her was never claimed.
Some dogs are small in size but big in attitude. Cyana is the opposite. She's a big girl but very easy-going, sweet and docile. She mostly has a middleground disposition, though slightly on the submissive side. Her level of energy is also in the middle, but leaning towards the calmer side.
The dog is eager-to-please, kind and warm hearted. A little needy but not overly clingy.
Behavior with people:
Cyanea loooooooves people! A little desperate for affection right now, but we think she will get over her insistence once she knows she will never be abandoned again. This dog craves a family. Homelessness is very hard on her. Yet, she remains patient and collected. She is such a good girl.
Behavior with children:
Unknown. Other than being a tiny-bit sensitive, we dont have any reason to think Cy wouldn't do well in a home with well-behaved and respectful kids.
Behavior with other dogs:
While Cyanea hasn't been around other dogs since her arrival in our program, she was introduced to a play-group while at the city shelter with a positive outcome. She was described as tolerant of other dogs and had social greetings.
Behavior with other animals:
She seems to have the basic down and appears housebroken. She has not been destructive at the shelter.
Beauty meets charisma! Incredibly sweet dog, well-behaved and eager-to-please.
