Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures

Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.

We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.

We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.

Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Background Info:

The Chipettes were brought into MPR as puppies from the city shelter. They are growing up quickly in our program!

Eleanor

Health Condition:

This stunning beauty girl is in great health and ready to be adopted!

Physical Description:

Eleanor is a gorgeous specimen of the breed with her lean and long build that should fill out well with age. Her adorable face with that perfect white stripe and those adoring hazel eyes is only made better with those well poised ears that pop out of the top of her head.

Current Living Situation:

Sadly, our sweet girl is still growing up in the shelter. She has kept a clean kennel from day one as she learned her dog door immediately at the ripe young age of three months! She is so cute when she melts into her big fluffy nest of blankets and peeks her little eyes out as if to thank the volunteers for her little slice of comfort.

Personality:

Oh is this girlie smart!! She has a lust for learning from her humans and really tries to do right by them! Eleanor loves to play fetch and has gotten quite good at it. She also is very quick to learn a puzzle and impresses the volunteers over and over :)

Behavior with people:

Ellie seems to want everyone she meets to be her new best friend! She is also very good at letting her people do their chores while she entertains herself with a toy. However, if we want to be absolutely honest what we really love is her snuggling... she is a very good snuggler!

Behavior with children:

As she is just a little one herself we think she would do best with older kids.

Behavior with other dogs:

Eleanor would need a very specific and tolerant male dog if she was to go to a home with a pet.

Behavior with other animals:

We believe she would do best in a home with no cats.

Training:

Sooooo wants to be taught Everything! This girl lives for training and has mastered sit and down. She is very close to quite a few more tricks up her paws too ;)

Best Attribute:

Her lust for learning! If you want an adventure buddy who wants to learn and play then snuggle and repeat then this is your new best friend!

Even if you can’t adopt this sweetheart, you can still help by donating for their care.
