Chiclets is a brand of candy-coated chewing gum.
Chiclet was picked up as a stray by animal control. She appeared neglected and weighed only a little over 40 pounds at the time. Poor thing was too scared to walk when she arrived at the pound and had to be carried by intake staff. Looks like she had a hard life and was very ready for something better.

We treated a minor skin issue resulting from past neglect and exposure to bugs. She responded well to treatment and it wasn't anything serious or chronic. Chicky is now healthy and ready to go home.
Medium size red nose little princess. Chiclet's beauty is in her eyes. She has the sweetest soul and meeting her in person is a must as she is much more attractive and engaging than her pictures.
Chiclet is fostered in a home with an older Shepherd mix. She gets along great with her laid back foster brother.
There is a large yard with privacy fence in her home. Chiclet is kept in a crate during the day and enjoys the family room when her foster family is home.
Chicklet is a fun loving young dog who loves to play. She loves toys, especially chew toys! She is a cuddler who wants to be by your side and slather you with kisses. She is very polite and tries hard to please. She is great in her crate and never makes a peep! She is almost finished with potty training.
Chic loves to go on a walk and is good on a leash. She is inexperienced so she is somewhat timid but she loves meeting new people. She gets along well with the resident male dog but would love a dog friend a tad more playful as her current dog brother is older and serious! Chickie sleeps in her crate at night.
We can't begin to tell you how sweet this little lady is. She is slightly timid and unsure at first but boy does she hope for love. She has obviously met bad people before and is still worried about being mistreated. As soon as she realises someone doesn't mean her any arm, her eyes brighten with joy and she covers you with love.
Chic is a little more on the submissive side. She doesn't have an overly dominant personality. She is very responsive but she does get a little boisterous once she's comfortable and happy. It doesn't last long. She's very chill!
She's an all around easy dog with a sparkling personality who would do well in just about any home as long as her family is caring and gentle. She has a sensitive heart but is full of love and cuddles.
Behavior with people:
Very sweet, loving and eager to make friends. A little more timid around men but it doesn't last long when she knows they mean her well. We are sure this cutie-pie was born an outgoing people-dog but she experienced the bad side of humans before. She so wants to be able to trust and love again.
Her foster family takes her on walks everyday and Chic loves meeting new people and say hello!
Behavior with children:
Chic met an 8yo boy recently and did well. He was a little intimidated by dogs so moved sheepishly around her. Chic was sweet and friendly with the little guy and he warmed up to her quickly. We think a home with gentle and respectful children over 6 would be fine.
Keep in mind that Chickie can be quite enthusiastic with her love and kisses so she needs supervision with kids under 5. She has no malice but she could get carried away and give them a not necessarily appreciated face wash.
Behavior with other dogs:
Chic has been around other dogs before and did well. She was even in a playgroup at the city pound and rate a greeter. That said, we think she would make a wonderful companion as an only pet. We suspect that once comfortable in a home, she might not necessarily be overly thrilled with sharing the love if the other dog doesn't let her be top princess. She does love spending time with her current foster brother though, who has no problem bowing to her.
Behavior with other animals:
Shy around barking dogs but likes to chase squirrels! Afraid of cats!
Chiclet has little training but she is very responsive and easy to handle. She knows sit and comes when called, The worst thing about her is her strong desire to cuddle. She does get a little pushy at times but quickly gets under control with leadership. She is very eager to please. Chicky is housebroken and crate trained.
Chiclet is a very sweet dog and a fun loving youngster! She has the cutest little smile and does everything she can to make you happy! This happy lady is going to make an awesome companion to just about anyone. To meet her is to love her :-)
