Butterflies are powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls and as a symbol of resurrection. Butterflies represents endurance, change, hope, and life.
This cutie pie was found as a stray and never claimed. Brought to the city pound, where she got really sick and spent a few weeks fighting for her life. She is now fully recovered and able to smile at life again.

Lack of proper care and essential vaccinations when she was a young puppy almost cost Butterfly her life. She contracted both a bad case of kennel cough plus the deadly parvo virus during her stay at the city shelter. She became very sick but thankfully, pulled through like a champ. She is quite the little trouper and fought with all her might to survive.
Butterfly is completely back on her feet now, healthy as can be, and ready for adoption. And of course, she is now up-to-date on vaccinations.
A little smaller than average but she might still have a bit of growing up to do. She is compact and well proportioned and has cute blue brindle patches.
Butterfly is living the life at MPR shelter, loving every minute of it. She is such an enthusiastic, happy and outgoing puppy! Always in a good mood and ready for a good time.
Butterfly is great in a kennel, quiet and patient and keeps it clean. She is not overly reactive towards the dogs walking in front of her kennel and she'd rather go play in the yard than cause trouble when she is let out.
Miss congeniality! What a happy puppy! Very outgoing, energetic and full of spirit. Butterfly loves to play in the yard, do the zoomies, and play some more. She is receptive to leadership but still very green.
Butterfly is not shy at all. She's confident and even a little full of herself at times. We are working on learning manners and how to greet people without getting overly excited. She's a young dog and sometime her spunk for like takes the best of her. Butterfly's fun-loving nature and enthusiastic personality are actually normal for a young healthy Pit Bull her age.
Behavior with people:
Super friendly! Loves people! Elated to meet new friends. Butterfly is at the age where playing beats cuddling but she definitly has both sides in her.
Behavior with children:
We think Butterfly would love a home with children. That said, we are still working on teaching her how to control her excitement and not be "nippy" when she's over stimulated. A home with children old enough to be around an happy, energetic and strong dog is recommended.
Behavior with other dogs:
Butterfly is a people-dog. Maybe she could learn to leave with a compatible male and with someone who understands the breed very well, but so far, she has indicated that she likes people much better.
Behavior with other animals:
She would probably not do well with a cat or other small animals. She might have a bit of a prey-drive.
She's eager to learn and enthusiastic about tricks but still very young and puppyish. She does keep her kennel clean and appears to understand the concept of pottying outside. She's learning basic commands and has a lot of potential.
The cutest cheerleader!
