A poetic term meaning "foggy", "wintery". The village was slumbering peacefully beneath the brumous morning sky.
Brumous came from a terrible situation. KCPD raided a house and found guns, money, and drugs. Poor dog was in a pen in the backyard, with no food or water. He had 2 billion fleas. KCPP staff gave him a bath the second they unloaded him. He was a total goober and took everything in stride. They were so impressed with his disposition that they contacted us immediately. Someone had to make sure this amazing dog would get a much better home than where he came from.

WOW! What a hunk! This dog is a HEAD-TURNER! Quite a bit larger than average. He looks like he might be Amstaff with a bit of American Bulldog in him. This loverboy is very impressive looking in person. He has THE biggest head!!!
Soaking up love and appreciating the good life at MPR shelter. He's so good and mellow that he currently occupies our meds room instead of a kennel. It's a small room with a couch, other furniture and items, and he's been perfectly behaved in there. Chill, quiet and a real gentleman. We couldn't ask for a better one.
This dog is a gem! Very easy-going, calm, great manners, responsive, loving and so eager to please. Nothing phases him and he's comfortable in all situations. The kind of dog you can take everywhere and be proud. A great representative of the breed who should go on to become a wonderful ambassador for Pit Bull dogs.
His level of energy is definitely on the low side, although we've caught him doing slow-motion zoomies in the yard once or twice, lol!
Behavior with people:
Total loverboy. He's a hit with the ladies but he's very fond of men too. Loving, calm, very laid back. He perks up from time to time and acts like a puppy but he's never hyper or overly excitable. He's confident, self-assured but not dominant. This dog must come from a great genetic background. He's everything a good Pit Bull type dog should be.
Behavior with children:
Unknown but he's so easy-going that we dont see why not.
Behavior with other dogs:
Brumous has not been introduced to other dogs since being in our program but he was while at the city pound. We were told he was good with females but not overly friendly with males. He's not a big player... Just kinda hung out... He would rather be around people.
Note that Brumous is reactive when he sees other dogs on leash and pulls very hard. We have began training with him but he needs someone willing to continue working on better leash manners when he's adopted.
Behavior with other animals:
Very little training but he's easy and no trouble at all for the most part. There's a doggy-door in his room, which he uses to let himself out when he needs to potty. He hasn't had one accident inside. He also hasn't chewed anything he should not. He'll sit for a treat.
Brumous does need leash-training however, but he is responsive. He is reactive at the sight of certain stimulus such as other dogs, bicycles, small running animals, etc. We believe he could be trained but because he is so strong, we prefer someone experienced with big powerful dogs for this mighty bear.
This hunk has it all! Gorgeous looks, awesome personality, perfect disposition and a wonderful laid-back nature. We know he won't be with us very long, so dont miss your chance!!!
