Boes the Ox is a good-natured bull who takes in every animal friend he makes. He is the owner of the Funny Farm and isn't exactly the greenest grass on the farm. Although he means well, he sometimes makes situations worse than they usually are, but this is usually rare.
Boes spent his first few years of life outside on a chain, neglected and unloved. Needless to say, he is ready to put the hard life behind him. Despite his ordeal, Boes remained hopeful life could be better. We're going to prove to him he was right.

Drop-dead gorgeous hunk! Very stocky, big boned dog with an amazing coat color. Prepare to turn-heads everywhere you take this remarkable breed ambassador.
Boes is learning about the good life at MPR's shelter and acing it! At first just being indoor seemed strange but he got the hang of it quickly.
Boes is very good in his kennel. Keeps it clean, doesn't mess with his bedding and uses the doggy-door to do his business in the outside run.
Boes is not reactive to the dogs barking around him and seems uninterested in interacting with them.
"Casanova clown" describes him well. The dog is gorgeous, charming, clumsy and hilarious. A big lovable goof who doesn't always realise how big he is but is learning. Boes is responsive but very green. He needs structure but he's easy.
Energy level is moreso on the low side with occasional outbursts of joy that can be a little over the top. Nothing that can't be managed with training and leadership though.
Boes does get a little unsure when introduced to new situations. It seems clear that he wasn't exposed to much before his rescue so he's curious but cautious. When he realises that the situation is safe however, he turns on the charm and everyone falls for him.
Over all the dog has a well balanced personality, possibly a little more on the submissive side, without being overly sensitive. He's very easy-going.
Behavior with people:
Loves people but might have met a few foes before. He his relieved when he knows you're friendly and thrilled to show you the same friendly side. We have seen him bark at people walking outside of his run but nothing alarming. Say hello to him in a friendly tone and he's your best-friend-forever.
Behavior with children:
Unknown but he's big and a little uncoordinated, and might be a bit of a bulldozer at time. Older kids are preferred, as well as good parental supervision and management. The dog has no malice and would probably love an active home with kids he could entertain with his silly antics.
Behavior with other dogs:
Boes would thrive as an only pet. He has not been introduced to dogs since being with us. He briefly met dogs before coming in our program and we were told he was a little uptight with them. He probably never had many encounters with other dogs before and he's not sure how to be around them. He's not necessarily looking for trouble but he doesn't really seem interested in making dog friends either.
It's possible he would enjoy life with a compatible female but proper introductions, management and supervision would be a must.
Behavior with other animals:
Little training but he knows the basic such as sit. He keeps his kennel clean.
Striking looking boy with a Teddy-Bear's heart. He'll give you the moon if you let him. All he wants in return is love, safety and good care.
