Seriously though, who doesn't like bacon?
This stocky dude with the big head was surrendered by his previous owner to an animal control officer and found himself in the local KC shelter. He quickly became a staff favorite and they pleaded his case to come into our program. We don’t know much about Bacon’s past but we do know that he is a wonderful dog, full of potential as family companion.

Foster: Bacon currently lives in a foster home with his foster mom and dad, three other dogs, and a cat. His foster home has a fenced in back yard. He likes to go outside and sniff around, but he's not a big fan of the cold weather. He'd rather be curled up on the couch watching TV. Can you blame him?!? On nice days, Bacon loves to go on walks and he is great on the leash.
Bacon is kenneled during the day when his foster parents are at work. He is totally housebroken and has had no accidents in his kennel or the house.
Personality: Bacon is a laid back, silly guy. He loves to lounge around the house and cuddle on the couch. Meal time is his favorite time of day. When he hears the food container, he gets really excited, starts drooling, and "singing" for his meal. It's hysterical and adorable!
Bacon is an easy dog. He doesn't require a lot of exercise and he is perfectly content just hanging around with his foster family.
Behavior with adults: Bacon has been wonderful with every adult he's met. He was quite the charmer at his recent trip to the vet. He had all of the staff there wanting to take him home.
Behavior with children: Bacon has not been introduced to any small children. We believe he has a great personality for kids and just needs a little training to learn not to run into them and knock them over.
Behavior with other dogs: Bacon shares his foster home with 3 other dogs and 1 cat. He does very well with all the dogs and is integrating to the pack like a champ. We believe he could do well in a home with a compatible female or as an only pet.
Behavior with other pets: Bacon would do best in a home with no cats.
Training: Bacon is crate trained and housebroken. He is responsive to training and eager to please. He knows how to sit on command and is currently learning how to stay. He is also working on learning how to take treats more gently.
Best Attribute: Bacon is an all around fabulous dog. He really has no faults. He's hilarious, laid back, loving, and sweet. Whether it's going on walks or snuggling on the couch, he is perfectly happy spending time with his foster family and just doing whatever they're doing.
Bacon has the most adorable smile. He is always grinning from ear to ear. It's hard not to smile back when you look at him. Bacon also has a really cute heart shaped patch on his side. He's basically a walking/wagging Valentine! If you're looking for a wonderful, loving, devoted family member, look no further. Bacon is your guy!!
