Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures

Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.

We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.

We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.

Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Background Info:

Unknown or info coming soon

Adoption Fee: $175
Breed: American Bully
Sex: Female
Age: 2-4 yrs
Weight: 40-45 lbs

Health Condition:

Babybel is healthy and doing great gaining just a few more pounds to be just right!

Physical Description:

Babybel is the cutest bowling ball! She has a Bulldog physique with a Pit Bull head! She is STOUT!! Solid muscle of silliness and absolute cuddly squish! Babybel has the most impressive puppy dog eyes that rip at your heartstrings! Her giant noggin bobbles back and forth when she trots to you with a giant smile :)

Current Living Situation:

Babybel lives in a house with a 4' picket fenced medium sized yard. She is learning that being outside is fun now that the icy tundra she was found in has thawed. There is one adult and one teenager in the home - who she loves to dote over!

There are two other dogs in the home: a resident 4 year old female Pit Bull and a 2 year old male foster Pit Bull. At this time, the dogs are kept separate in the home. Babybel rotates where she sleeps. Some nights she is in her kennel, and sleeps soundly in there. Other nights she gets to snuggle foster mom in her bed. It takes her a minute to find JUST the right spot but then she is down for the count, and actually needs a little help waking up in the morning lol! Babybel gets to go on walks with her furry foster sister and does great on the leash! She enjoys getting out and exploring the neighborhood!

Personality:

Babybel has a well balanced personality. She is happy and outgoing with a medium energy level, yet also loves her time lounging on the couch. She has a stubbornness about her that comes out comical, and she has so much love to give! She will do best with a home that provides structure and continued training. Strong leadership mixed with a soft heart describes Babybel's ideal person. She wants to learn but needs her human to be the leader she has never had.

Behavior with people:

Babybel has never met a stranger...like ever! She is incredibly friendly and outgoing! She is a hugger when she meets new people and just wants to wrap her massive paws and short legs around your neck and lay her head on your shoulder. Since she loves to hug, foster mom is working with her on waiting until the human bends down to get their hug and keeping all four of her paws on the floor. It can be hard when you are made of nothing but love to give!

Behavior with children:

Babybel could do well in a home with older children/teenagers who are capable of handling her. She can get overly excited and become a bit of a bull in a china shop, which may be too much for small children.

Behavior with other dogs:

Babybel seems to do well with other dogs that she has encountered so far. At this time, we do not believe that she would need to be the only pet in the home. With proper introductions, we believe she could live with a compatible male, who isn't intimated by her zoomies and strength, in a home with owners that understand bully breeds and provide good leadership and supervision.

Behavior with other animals:

At this time, we can not guarantee Babybel's behavior with other animals due to lack of exposure. She had a brief encounter with a store cat at K9 Closet boutique, and seemed to be interested yet calm. We do want to elaborate that she was always leashed and had lots of people distracting her. Very slow introductions would be necessary with other animals in the home.

Babybel has shown interest in squirrels on walks, but not an intense one and is easily redirected.

Training:

Babybel knows "sit" and is working on "wait." Potty training is a work in progress, but she has started to show improvement with high reward treats... food is this girl's love language after all! BB is very quiet in her kennel and goes in well with her treat. BB can be stubborn but learning better manners every day!

Best Attribute:

Babybel is the most endearing and sappy lovebug ever! She just wants to envelop you with her love and massive paws! This girl is going to give years of love and laughter to the lucky one who swoops her up!
