An auger is a tool with a helical shape.
Auger was found as a stray and taken to the city shelter. He was never claimed. His cute face, spiral tail and great personality won over the staff who selected him as a potential candidate for our program. We totally agreed uppon meeting him.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull/Bulldog mix
Age: 1 to 3
Weight: 50 to 60
Auger is healthy and ready for adoption.
Medium size and very muscular with a gorgeous head and shinny blue coat. Auger's tail is short and crooked. Too cute!!!
Auger is living at MPR shelter where he has quickly become a volunteer's favorite. He is easy to handle, well behaved and very fun-loving. He keeps his kennel clean and is not destructive. He's good when left alone in a playroom for a few minutes and no trouble at all.
We love this guy! He's so cool and friendly. Great personality and awesome disposition. He wont be with us very long. Auger is outgoing and responsive, super friendly and always in a good mood. He loves to play and enjoy life. Energy level is medium. He's a young dog who's ready for a good time.
Auger is not a push-over but he is not defiant either. He's well-balanced and easy to handle. A little mouthy, but nothing abnormal for a young dog who's trying to bond with people. He's a great ambassador for bully-breeds.
Behavior with people:
Super friendly! Auger loves everyone as much as everyone loves him. Very sociable and eager to make friends.
Behavior with children:
He's met a few kids and did well. We dont recommend a home with toddlers due to him being a bouncy young dog, but we see no reason why he wouldn't do well in a home with older/bigger kids.
Behavior with other dogs:
We were told that he wasn't fond of other dogs when the city shelter tried introductions. He was stiff and unconformable. We believe he would do better as an only pet. If someone wants to try him with a female, we would recommend a long introduction and keeping the dogs separate via crate/rotate until they adjust, which could be a few weeks.
Auger will not be placed with another male dog.
Behavior with other animals:
He knows basic commands and is a fast learner. Turn obedience training into a game, and you'll have an eager participant.
He's adorable inside and out! His huge head and teddy-bear face are so endearing. This dog is very easy to fall in love with.
