"Alien Life Form". Alf is a furry orange alien who comes to live with a terran family after crashing into their garage. The name Alf means "wise".
Are you kidding me? Look at this little guy! He came into city pound covered in Demodex mange, which made him look like a little Alien. Imagine being in this kind of cold outside when you are pretty much half naked. Little Alf's ordeal is over. He is now loved and pampered and in great hands with MPR volunteers.

Demodex mange. Alf is currently being treated. A case like him should take about 2 months to cure. We will update his bio with his progress.
Alf has just been transferred to a comfortable foster home to facilitate his mange treatment. There are two adult dogs in his foster. Alf will be introduced to them soon. Foster mom lives in the country and Alf will be exposed to horses and barn cats. Great socialization for the little guy.
He's already as favorite with the volunteers. He is as fun-loving as he is cute. Super friendly, smart; he doesn’t know a stranger. Though he is under 12 months old, Alf is not acting like a rambunctious puppy. He is playful, lively and happy, but not hyper or out-of-control. We are actually quite impressed with his eager-to-please nature. This little guy has the potential to make an outstanding family companion.
Behavior with adults:
He's the best! Very fun-loving but not hyper. Affectionate but not overly needy. He's soaking up love like a sponge and you can actually see the gratitude in his eyes. He loves all people the same and does not discriminate what's so ever.
Behavior with children:
To be determined.
Behavior with other dogs:
Alf has not been introduced to other dogs yet, but thus far, we have no reason to believe he could not happily share his home with a compatible dog. We will update his bio as we know more.
Behavior with other animals:
To be determined.
Very little training so far, but a big heart ready to learn. Alf focuses well on treats and you can see his little brain working quickly at making associations. Housebreaking is going very well and so far we are not seeing any unpleasant habits or bad behaviors.
Even covered in mange, he's still the cutest little guy. Perhaps his wonderful disposition is what really shines through and makes him so attractive. Volunteers have fallen in love big time with sweet Alfie, and we have no doubt you will to.
