Physical Description:
Suede is a big puppy for his age and still growing! Suede has an amazingly soft coat and the golden liver color is just beautiful. Add a gorgeous face with a silly overbite and you have a show-stopper!
Current Living Situation:
Fostered in a home with adults and teenagers, other dogs (one Chihuahua, two Pitbulls), and two cats.
Personality:
Suede has a medium level of energy and is described as "happy-go-lucky." His foster family travels every weekend with him and he rides great in the car.
He's laid back most of the time, and can entertain himself if no one has time for him.
Suede needs time to bond with a new family and is a little standoffish with strangers. He's is the kind of dog who thrives on consistency.
Behavior with people:
Friendly, but somewhat aloof at first. No sign of aggression. He's just a little indifferent until he gets attached. Once comfortable though, he's an affectionate dog who loves to sit on your lap even though he is huge. Gives lots of kisses. Very sweet and loving.
Behavior with children:
Suede is mouthy and breaking this bad habit has been challenging. He will not be placed in a home with toddlers or small children. He's a big dog and does not know his own strength.
Behavior with other dogs:
Suede gets along well with the dogs in his foster. He can be a little pushy with play-time, so he needs supervision to make sure he won't irritate older dogs.
Behavior with other animals:
He does ok with the cats in the house and seems to have a low prey drive for wild animals outside.
Training:
Foster mom says that he is super potty-trained. He does need a little bit of leash-training though. He knows sit, down, shake and is treat motivated.
