Background Info:

Scotcharoo was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. Such a cute young man doesn’t deserve to start out feeling unwanted and unloved. Let’s get this boy a forever home and show him what being an adored pet is all about!

Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull Mix
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 6-10 mts
Weight: Growing
Health Condition:

Scotch is healthy and ready to be adopted.

Physical Description:

A beautiful dog! This boy is brown with some white markings on his chest. Scotcharoo has the most mesmerizing eyes. They’re lightly colored, a mix of hazel and gray. He also has cute natural ears that he hasn’t quite grown into yet.

Current Living Situation:

Scotch is fostered in a single-family home with adults and animals alike. There are four dogs – three pit mixes and one chihuahua, and two cats. Foster mom says he gets along with all of them! Scotch gets kenneled when home alone and at night. He finds comfort in the safety of his kennel. He actually likes being in at night and sometimes hangs out in it during the day when he needs a break from all his foster siblings.

Personality:

Goofy little guy who just wants to be loved. Scotch has a few quirks. He’s a nervous little dude. Eager-to-please and submissive. When traveling in the car though, the poor guy gets carsick. He gets kenneled in the car and even with some medicine, he still gets sick. Foster mom isn’t sure that this will get any better, so future adopters should keep this in mind if they’re looking for a companion to road trip with.

Behavior with people:

Timid at first, but then he warms up. His foster family calls him “Pancake” sometimes because when he first meets people, he is so nervous that he flattens himself on the ground. It’s sad because we don’t know what made him so afraid of people in the past, but he warms up quickly and is learning to trust new people.

Behavior with children:

Scotch appears well-behaved when meeting kids. Foster mom said he has even met an infant and did well. He’s low energy but be sure to take note of his nervousness. He will need to be treated respectfully with this in consideration.

Behavior with other dogs:

Scotch seems to be well-socialized when it comes to his behavior around other dogs. After slow introductions, Scotch plays well with his foster siblings. He could possibly live with a compatible female to show him the ropes about what life pet life is all about.

Behavior with other animals:

We haven’t witnessed a prey drive with any other smaller animals, but Scotch co-exists with the felines in his foster home without any issue.

Training:

Scotcharoo is responsive and eager to please. Foster mom says that he is housebroken, and crate trained.

Best Attribute:

Scotch has such an endearing face with those piercing eyes! He just wants to be loved and find a permanent place to lay his head. Foster mom says he loves to sleep on top of people, so if you’re looking for a cuddler, look no further!
