Background Info:

Samairi was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter by a good Samaritan. We do not have any information about her past, but we knew right away that with her personality and intelligence, Sami would be a great fit for our program.

Adoption Fee: $200
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Sex: Female
Age: 10-18 mts
Weight: 38-48 lbs
Health Condition:

Samairi (Sami for short) is healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:

Sami is THE cutest little monkey! Pictures dont do her justice whatsoever. She’s smaller than average and likely full-grown, but could still fill out a little more. She’s lightweight and a great size for a cuddle buddy! Sami has the cutest little underbite. Her top lip sometimes gets stuck, showing off her teefers.

Current Living Situation:

This sweet girl is fostered in a home with two adults and a four-legged foster brother – a 3-year-old pit mix. She has a yard with 8’ privacy fence where the dogs can romp and play together. Foster mom says she has been a wonderful houseguest.

Personality:

A real social butterfly! Sami is very well balanced - calm and happy. She’s playful when it's time to play and easygoing when everyone is relaxing. A natural snuggler! Her adaptability is her superpower!

Sami is on the submissive side but not timid. She was a little bit apprehensive about things at her foster home in the beginning, but has gained a ton of confidence since and has become more independent and self assure..

Behavior with people:

Outgoing and friendly with everyone. Sami is a gentle greeter and will take any and all attention people will give her. She is not timid or afraid with people at all.

Behavior with children:

She has met one toddler and wanted to kiss him - he was too little for this, so foster parents didn't experiment further. We believe Sami would do well in a home with respectful children. She is not too rambunctious for little ones and listens easily to re-direction, but she has a sensitive side that needs to be respected.

Behavior with other dogs:

Sami gets along great with her foster brother. Foster mom says she was perfectly happy cuddling with the humans in the house, but really came alive when they introduced the dogs and started letting them play. She has more energy than her foster brother, but takes his direction when he’s fed up with roughhousing.

Sami met a few other dogs and was submissive. She is still a pup, so she might become more confident as she matures

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown.

Training:

We believe Sami might have been a pet in her previous life, as she is kennel-trained and housebroken. She also knows a few simple commands. Sami is crated when home alone and overnight with no problems – though she would very much enjoy snuggling all night with her people 😊 She is very responsive, food-motivated, and eager to please. She does great on a leash and appears very easy to train.

Foster mom says, “Sami is as easy they come - we've had many fosters and she is truly one of the best! She can match any mood and just wants to be loved - that is her main priority! She is a unicorn that we believe would be happiest in an active family with a doggy brother to play with.”
